Richer Sounds sell a lot of blu-Ray players that are multiregion for DVD. For example the very fine Sony 350...
http://www.richersounds.com/product/...0/sony-bdps350 Only 120 quid. Or for a bit more the 360 http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ony-bdps360-r2 If you are silly enough to go into Currys and ask for a multiregion player don't be too surprised if the sales muppet hasn't got a clue what you are talking about and tries to sell you a Mains plug travel adapter! ![]() Richer Sounds on the other hand WILL know what you are on about. Problem is they are not as commonplace as Currys and the like. Oh yes, your Yamaha amp should be OK with any Blu--Ray player. Although it might not handle the new HD Audio formats available on Blu-Ray Last edited by chrisjr : 22-09-2009 at 16:01. Reason: Forgot the AV |

As Chrisjr says the S350/S360 are a great choice & upscaling will be as good as your 1930
even if you buy one of these that is not already multiregion for DVD it is easy to hack with an all 4 one remote, did mine in seconds

The Yamaha will be compatible with Bluray as Chris has mentioned, you will need to connect via optical/coaxial, this will give you DD/DTS - no HD audio I'm afraid.
You will get the DTS core from DTS HD which is 1.5Mbit/s, so you should hear a little improvement. |
