Justin Lee Collins is awful, he was awful as the ITT presenter on series 1 and lost the job to Claudia.

Maybe if he thinks Bruce was rude to him he was probably rude to Bruce as he appears to be rude to everyone, just his rudeness is presented in a different way, and he thinks it is humour.

He was at Blackpool earlier this year at the dance championship, saw someone he knew at the other side of the hall and bellowed across to them when the music stopped. If that isnt rude, what is?

I like JLC and I've heard than a few stories about Bruce and his unpleasantness over the years

he's unfunny and a complete egomaniac - I'd much rather have Terry Wogan

To replace one egomaniac with another one?!

but Uncle Terry is lovely and cuddly and funny and Bruce is spiky and sharp!

I accept that most TV people are egomaniacs but I prefer the 'nice' ones

Well, okay then. But I wouldn't want him to be. Last time he was doing celebrity SCD (with Tess), he had kinda rubbishy attitude to it.

Spot on. I think Wogan would be brilliant and surely SCD will have lots of TOGS watching.

Whoever said Jeff Stelling is a genius but I think he's busy on a Saturday.

My wife thinks that Lionel Blair should be presenting it. As she says that as he knows about dancing and she thinks he would make a great presenter.

Ye he was good...But he's 78, ...he'd make a great judge tho...I think Wogan would be good for a few years....

I adore Terry Wogan!
This is my first year watching SCD so don't really want to comment on Bruce and his rudeness or lack thereof...but I will agree that, based on seeing both TW and BF doing various things over the years, I would much prefer to be watching with Terry presenting.

He would be perfect for it, just look at Children in Need (live) and his amusing and much missed commentary on Eurovision (again, live!)

It would be great, but I think Sir Terry is off to do some gardening....

Re the thread title, I think that JLC is entitled to have his own opinion, as are we all. And we are allowed to disagree with him and have our own....

No news here (again). Move along.”

Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

I can't comment on Bruce specifically but to be honest most TV personalities are not like their public personna in real life.

Bruce made a snidey comment to Anton about 'killing a joke' tonight, because Anton talked through his punchline. Not loudly, we all heard it. Bruce can't stand the lime light being stolen from him at all, and I know his cantankerousness is often passed off as just his humour - but I think he is rude and needy.

I have never been a fan of Bruce. I have always found him a little pervy tbh, always surrounding himself with vacuous pneumatic airheads on every show he does.

These days he is just embarassing to watch and an embarassment to himself imo.

JLC is a fat hairy ****** that needs a good kicking, he's not funny and thinks he's the bees knees. The sooner he leaves our tv screens the better!

Most interesting comment is that Bruce was 'very rude' when Justin did that SCD spin off show.”

I'm not sure why this is making the headline at the top of this page today .

After reading JLC's recounting of events i feel a bit sorry for him. His handling of the bbc2 show was ok in fact I likes the way he treated the so called slebs and zelebs. Why BF took against him from the off i don't understand, At the start Forsyth didn't think SCD was that good an idea and was dismissive of it being a success so why care about a presenter on it's associate show.

Oh no, please don't take Jeff Stelling away from Soccer Saturday - he's a total legend, cheesy jokes and all!!

As much as Brucie might be a bit grumpy at times I would be careful what you wish for. I am sure that if he were to leave then he would be replaced by a much younger model than Terry, Jeff or Lionel as seems to be the fashion these days. Probably someone more like Tess Daly's husband unfortunately!

I was at a charity event once(golf) , after the event there was a gathering of the charity participants

People were made to feel as though they were in the presence of a superior superstar who looked down their nose at the pesants,

I think I will side with JLC

Funny you should say that because a friend's dad paid an enormous sum of money to play in a charity round of golf alongside pros and celebs, including Forsyth and Ronnie Corbett.
He enjoyed chat and banter with the other participants, but said these two appeared to resent the fact that they had to mix with 'ordinary people', ignored anyone they didn't know and did nothing but complain about the course, the refreshments and the local rag taking their pictures.

It's too late for Bruce to retire gracefully,
If he'd taken the same route as Wogan and quit while he was ahead, he could have got some nice safe little prerecorded show where he couldn't do too much damage, but now, he'll go in cloud of bad jokes, bad taste and declining ratings.

Several presenters have been Strictly contestants - Bill Turnbull, Andrew castle, Gabby Logan etc etc
Why not offer them the presenting job?
Or that awfully cute Chris Hollins?
Too many people suggest comedians for the role, but I'd much rather have more judging and fewer jokes.

Many years ago I met someone, at a dinner party, who worked in the production office of The Generation Game. He told us that the Bruce we see on TV is far nicer than the rude arrogant man he really is. I didn't believe a word of it! Perhaps I should have?
