All OK here.

I have had no problems with series links lately but I have had to re-schedule the series links a few times due to channel up-dates.

Did you do a channel update and not reset the schedule perhaps?

Would you mind clarifying this? By resetting the schedule, does that mean deleting the reservation then setting it up again for each item, or is there a trick I'm missing?

Many thanks.

I think katrinap is referring to the freesat rescan when a channel is added to the epg, this deletes any ITV HD reservations which then need to be set up again.

The big problem here being that if you turn the Humax on to let it grind through the boot and, for example, go to make a cup of tea, then is any EPG changes are required by the you come back it will have done the whole rescan process without a trace.

So one piece of shoddy programming on the part of Humax is exacerbated by another piece of shoddy programming on the part of Humax.

And still the useless perishers haven't come up with an update.

Ahh, OK. I knew about this affecting the ITV HD stuff, just didn't know the OP was talking about a programme on this channel. Thanks!

I think most of the problems have there root with programes starting early or late. This is componded by the very poor handling by the FOXSAT of the situation. Most of the time if you are watching the TV you will get a message saying conflict pop up and then disapear leaving you with not the slightst idea of what went on. There is probably no ideal way to deal with these conflicts but the crude cludge the FOXSAT uses is not good.

It's the same old UI design problem.

Mind you, it doesn't look designed so much as cobbled together at the last minute.

It's particularly annoying when two cock-ups collide as they do with the rescan issue and together, turn what are two annoyances into a situation where recordings are lost unnecessarily.

I'm glad I watch little on ITV and even less that is on ITV HD but I feel for those who do.

Even a very basic system of allow you to priortize a recording where a clash might occur would be better then what it has at present

My box is 24 hours old and I marked The Fixer and The Bill in HD to record. Today after the first boot I eventually noticed that all ITV HD schedule recordings were removed.
I have seen a thread about this and some say it is ITV but most say it is a Humax bug.
Very disappointing as I have upgraded from the Freeview recorders that had a host of bugs, hopefully thinking that Freesat units would be better, and they probably are, but still buggy in places?
Just tried the red button ITV HD on Grimefighters and reports No or Bad Signal? Is this normal.

There have been channel updates today on my box so I expect it happened on your box. When channels are removed or moved the system does a rescan and lose any ITVHD schedule recordings, probable because ITVHD is a red button service. You will need to redo them.

Yes I have done that, What about my second issue. Any ideas?
''Just tried the red button ITV HD on Grimefighters and reports No or Bad Signal?''
7.30pm... There seems to be a signal problem as above. I tried to rescan channels and kept stating no signal.
8.00pm... Two scheduled recordings have started and viewable, but the 'info' and 'EP Guide' is blank on all channels.
I will wait until later and try another full retune. I am not hopeful that The Fixer at 9pm via ITVHD will record successfully.

That was me on the other thread, I'm finding this HD bug a pain as well it must be able to be fixed by an update because all these units are software bugs rather then physical faults like a power supply for example, if Humax don’t sort it out then people won’t buy their new models for fear of other troubles that won’t get sorted.
Most software based equipment have bugs some bare noticeable so to be faire some things only show up when the products are put out on the market but like I say as long as the problems are addressed, that’s when I blame the companies

My hdr recorded it fine but I did have to re-instate the recording schedule following yesterdays channel changes.

Strange, the adverts for the retune all said that it was limited to Freeview users

Different re-tune.

The Freeview one was for the Freeview platform only and would have had to be manually instigated on Freeview STB's whereas the Freesat one was just a standard minor EPG mod and would have been automatic for Freesat STB's.
