I love the song, and I really hope it does well. But, not everyone likes the same things as everyone else.

God, this is like one of those desperate attention seeking threads on IMDB, where someone has to claim "OMG, this is the WORST movie ever made!!!!!" for whatever film is out that week.

It's just a flipping catchy pop song, no more no less. It's more acceptable than half the current top 40.

You 'd think this was the Crazy Frog or something

LOL! Id say its a pretty big claim to fame, given that about 100,000 people audition for it every year. Its arguably the most popular TV show in the UK, and a million £ recording contract. NOt too shabby.

As for the song, I like it! ANd I am very critical of pop songs these days, with all the fake vocals, and people who cant sing. Its a great POP song which will be nice to dance to in clubs. I know I would love it even more if I was a teen or in my 20's when I use to be all over the club scene. But now at 35, I can still see how a song is gonna do well and entertain the youngsters.

Which is what I said, she won an ITV game show. Coronation Street gets a few million viewers, it is still a soap opera, not Shakespeare.

Glad you found my post funny by the way.

Don't knock Corrie. It has produced some of the finest acting talent this country has ever seen - Ken Barlow, Tyrone, Curly Watts, I could go on.

You're in no position to declare something "universally bad" because music is subjective whether you like it or not.

I don't like it because I don't like Flo-Rida and I think the song sounds like every Flo-Rida song ever made and every Flo-Rida song that ever will be made.

This song is one of the best of the year by far.

It WILL do well and everyone knows it, end of.

HATED it at first.. but it grows on you like an unwanted fungus.. im not saying its amazing or great or even got an ounce of the epic-ness of Bleeding Love

But for a throwaway pop song with a pulsating beat and a 'of the month' rapper it does its job perfectly.

It's alright. I'm just pleased that Simon Cowell hasn't pushed her down the 'Leona route' of mainly releasing ballads. It's good to see that she isn't a Leona clone.

I'm not knocking Leona, by the way. She has a great voice and she suits ballads - it would just be boring and predictable for Alexandra to go the same way! I apologise for bringing Leona into it by the way...I hate it when people compare them, I honestly don't know why I just did!

Maybe it is rubbish throwaway pop, but I don't find it a chore to listen to it like a lot of other recent music - 'Get Sexy', 'Boys and Girls', for example.

It's STUNNINGLY woeful.

I hope it flops.

She's a terrible singer, and really bores me.

Pop music can be fantastic (Biology by Girls Aloud) I'm no pop snob but this song is truly truly terrible.

hahahahahahaha... I didn't think I could hear anything more idiotic on this board but you've just proved me wrong.. So this song is groundbreaking is it?? Its a progression?? Its a new style of music?? I think even the biggest Alex fan would know that this isn't anything original.

Fully agree. I don't like it either, I couldn't even listen right to the end of the song.

its very catchy. but its strange - because i was bored of it after 3 or 4 listens. now i cant bare 2 listen to it. which is a shame because i really like alex on the x factor. i also would like to throw in that i hate leona's new song aswel! overall im quite disapointed, but its no big deal - i'll just listen to somthing else. jade ewen for example

Are the lyrics good: No
Is the message of the song good for the audience who'll buy it: No
Does it just sound like it could have been written for Sinitta?: Yes

And thats just about what I'll expect from her career, even with the man with the biggest moobs in rap alongside her.

Very chuffed she didn't release a ballad first. This will help distinguish her from the X Factor tag (where Steve, Leon, Leona and Shayne all had ballad after ballad :yawn. She's young, a fantastic dancer, a great singer and really likeable.

The song itself is a bit poo but it'll do well regardless. Love the video.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this song is awful. My girlfriends all think its great!

What a boring, cheesy mess of a song. Even adding on flo rida (the distinguished rapper that he is *sarcasm*) couldn't save it. The video is the crowning glory to the ridiculousness of it all

This is ridiculous, criticising her music when you've only heard one track from the album.

She will succeed no matter what you think anyway. She has worked hard, singing in bars and clubs trying to make ends meet, and facing up to her enitial rejection from the X Factor and her subsequent triumph. So all the people who are calling alex crap are just jealous and narrow-minded.”

You post is reasonable (although I don't agree with you) up until the last paragraph but the old accusing people of being jealous and narrow minded because they think the song is crap lost any credibility or valid points you may have had.
Out of curiosity just what is that those of us that think the song is crap are jealous of?

that post lost validity when they implied that Alex was different, progressive and a new style of music. LMAO

Dear OP, apparently you're allowed to have an opinion of a piece of music but you're not allowed to have an opinion of someone else's opinion. Got it?

I didn't dislike the song as much as this thread led me to believe I would. The verse is a bit weak but the chorus is ok. I don't know why they had to include a second rate rapper halfway through, talking about nothing, instead of writing a proper middle 8 though, this isn't the 90s. It really just sounds like every other manufactured pop song at the moment. Pretty average. It's nowhere near as bad as her version of "Hallelujah".

Nothing against Alex, I want her to make good music.

Hated the video.

Oh bloody hell, just because you don't like it...

There is no need to criticise other peoples tastes just because it doesn't match with your own.

With regards to the song, I like it. It's catchy even though I would have liked to have seen something abit more ballad-esque from Alexandra.

Oh and my taste is fine, thanks.
