Hi,
I've just upgraded my receiver to a Humax Freesat HDR, but I have two problems.
My dish is a 36v motorised H-H mount but the Humax only has diseqc/usals control, and I only have one downlead for the Humax's two inputs.
I have a 90cm dish mounted in a windy spot, so I'll want to keep the 36v motor as it's both quick and strong. The installed cable has 4 cores, two for the motor power and two for the reed switch. It looks my only option is a V-box to convert USALS commands to a 36v feed to move the dish.
Are V-Boxes all much the same, or are there any brands that are better or to be avoided?
I want to use the full capability of the Humax's twin tuners, so would it be better to:
1) just use a connecting lead between the LNB1out and LNB2 terminals
2) get a Unicable/SCR LNB
3) get a twin output LNB and run another downlead. Running a second cable is do-able as there's conduits for the existing downlead in the walls, but it will involve lifting furniture and carpets throughout the house so not a small job, but would do it if there's a cost/performace benefit.
4) something else?
I've only just got the Humax so I'm unfamiliar with what it can and can't do, and whether any of the above would be significantly better in terms of cost or enabling features, so I'm open to suggestions or recommendations on configuration or selection of components to do the above.
Thanks
WM
