HDMI switcher advice needed
the hamster

Hi all, need some advice please.

I have 3 tv's in the house
I have SKY Hd and a PS3

I would like to connect all the tv's via hdmi to a switcher unit so I can watch either source on any tv, NOT a duplication of 1 source on all 3 at the same time.

Is there a unit that will allow me to select the input and output for each HDMI connection?

All the distribution is being done from the cupboard under that stairs while the house is under renovation.

Thanks, Stu

What you require is known as an HDMI matrix switch. In this case a 2 x 4 or 4 x 4 matrix device would work.

Its a complex area with compatibility issues on some devices. You'll also note a huge difference in the costs of these devices from £80 to £1000.

I'd advise opting for a vendor who will allow you to try before you buy or make sure the vendor will take the device back if it doesn't work for you ...
