I suspect whoever is responsible for Natalie's costume tonight is the same person who put Lynda in a giant condom on the opening night.

Jo's costume was vile as was Zoe's.

Loved Flavia's dress.

I agree the costumes for Jo and Natalie tonight verged on criminal. They were dressed horrendously last week too - what have the BBC wardrobe dept got against them ?

For goodness sake why can't they dress them suitably for their age and shape and also take the dance being performed into consideration.

And the men's Tail suits! shiny material and so baggy they could get both legs down one leg.

Flavia always looks serene in what ever she wears.

Lilia's outfit was OTT. She has a gorgeous shape....that is true but her outfit tonight henged on almost obscene.
Took away from actually watching her performance.

Jo Wood's looked like it was sewn on her. Not flattering at all.

Who ever is doing the wardrobe either has a low limited budget or doesn't know what they are doing.

Seems that each year the dressing on both males & female celebritys gets rather tacky.

Su Judd is in charge of the costume design. Here's an article that appeared in the Sun durling last year's series which tells you a bit about the process.

They were pulled up so high (Simon Cowell would have loved those pants ) I kept getting the feeling I should be seeing more (if you know what I mean ) than I was, very distracting.

I think it was the material for Jo's dress - awful! And the piece in the front was ridiculous.

Craig's tail suit for his tango seemed to have been made for a much larger bloke. Who knows? He may have been dancing like a dervish inside there, but we just couldn't tell.

Flavias definitely had the best dresses both shows. I loved her white Tango one on Friday night, and her Bronze Rumba one from last night is probably the best Rumba dress I've seen on the show. She's looked stunning both nights..

I think the female pros use their own dressmakers.

I spent the majority of her dance yelling about how silly it looked as it flapped around pointlessly.

Whoever it was that put that band around Lilia's waist last night was mad, it just cut her in half!

Jo's costume was, a mistake to put it one way .

As I said on the disucssion thread, the skirt part had a very simular look to the material used for those fortune telling fishes in christmas crackers...

I was under the impression the pro's designed their own... no idea who makes them and no idea about the celebs, maybe it is the designers in there because last year or the ear before i think it was one of Alesha's dresses, someone from the wardrobe department was on ITT talking through what they had designed

Natalie Cassidy looked like an roly-poly ostrich in that feathery outfit.

Where did you hear that? I was under the impression they were made by the dancewear specialist companies. It would seem to be more financially sensible to have them made by one or two companies rather than by lots of individual makers. See link to The Sun above. But what do I know!

Don't get me wrong though. I think the standard of design varies wildly, and they totally miss when they're trying to dress an older figure or a rather bulkier one (sorry Natalie but you deserved better last night I thought.)

I was only disappointed that Bernie Clifton wasn't riding her

Jo looked an odd shape, with little definition in the middle, and Lilia...well, she looked hefty, if not downright porky, especially in the lower half. I found myself idly wondering what she and beefy Darren eat. Both nifty dancers but exceedingly well covered - and I don't mean by the clothes!

Much to the relief of Bernie Clifton

I think the skimpiness of some of the pro latin dresses is ridiculous. It's not necessary and it gives the wrong image to latin dancing - you very rarely see dresses anywhere close to being that revealing on the actual competition circuit. Most tend to be classy and significantly longer.

Sometimes!

Although I've seen costumes at comps that go from obscene (think Ola's shoelaces and hanky arrangement) to the ridiculous..an all in one velvet catsuit, which must have been ridiculously hot to dance in.

What I really hate is the latin dresses with excess amount of material that really serves no purpose, and the lady just ends up holding it/wrapped round her legs/caught in her shoes!

The BBC really needs to take a look at wardrobe dept! Although I think the celebs have some say in costumes - colours they like etc and somethimes even length/skimpiness. They really should have someone to advise both dressmakers and celebs about what does and doesn't suit them. Natalie's last night was one of the worst I can think of - I like Natalie am not a skinny wee thing and there is no way I would consider wearing what she had on - sometimes covering it up is a much wiser option.

I think Lilia is gorgeous with a great figure, but that costume did her no favours at all. The weird belt thing with a thin strip of material going up the front made her look porky, when she isn't. It also had the unfortunate effect of reminding me of the old style sanitary belts (sorry).

Some of the dresses were lovely though.
