That would be the FALSE EYELASHES duckie - it is not down to the celebs what they wear dress or make up wise.

I thought Jo looked elegant for her tango and foxy for her rumba.

In all honesty, as a female I do feel sorry for her and I hope being on the show gives her self-esteem a big big well-needed boost; HOWEVER, I wouldn't like the sympathy vote keeping her in the contest at the expense of other much better dancers.

O/T: She looks great for her age I must say and will have no problem finding love again. I hope that flippity bit of a girl takes old Ron for all Jo's left him with

In the nicest possible way, she does look "as if she's been round the block a few times" (This from an older male perspective, of course)

Well if that's 'the nicest possible way' I'd hate to see you being harsh! Men of that age, of course, all look like innocent teenagers.

I like jo, she has a great attitude to life and no doubt will inspire lots of women about ageing, a rock and roll chick. But she has serious self doubts about being on this show. She just needs to find confidence in herself, what i noticed in the first show when the non dancing celebrities did the group dance was craigs comment at the end to brendan. He just said to him i wish you all the best in a sarcastic youve got the short straw way, we saw jo saying im not bothered but i think it did bother her, thought craig was a bit out of order there undermining her confidence before she had even performed in the show properly. I hope she finds that self confidence though brendan whos great with her and she can prove craig wrong to a degree.

I tink she is doing her very best and whist it was not perfect it really wasn't as bad as Craig made out it was .

I thought comparing her to Joe Calzaghe ws insulting as he had no rythm grace or real perosnality when dancing and at times I felt Jo brought all of these to the florr even though it wasn't consistant

I do fel the right person went last night as Richard really had no flair and looked very uncomfortable during both his dances

She's quite enchanting. Her and Brendan are a good partnership and I'm pleased they made it through

She should have gone and probably would have if Craig held back a bit. Who's voting for her? She's not a John Sergeant who started off being entertaining and endearing. Jo Wood is neither and looks to be permantly elsewhere. Who exactly is she and what makes her a celebrity? She's introduced as 'model and entrepreneur' Model? Modelling what - stairlifts? Entrepreneur - Does this refer to the fact that she's gonna walk off with wad of Rolling Stones cash for doing less than nothing? I've never heard of the Footballers' Wives actors or the bloke off Hollyoaks but that's only because I don't watch that type of TV programme but calling Jo Wood a celebrity? Come on!

Just because you've never heard of her doesn't mean that she's not well known to others, especially those of us of a certain age. I've never heard of the bloke from Hollyoaks or the girl from The Bill, doesn't mean they're not household names to someone else. As for 'entrepreneur'; she has her own successful business, Jo Wood Organics.

That's why I made the point about Zoe Lucker, Laila Rouass, and Ricky Whittle. I'd never heard of them but fully understood that many millions of others had and enjoy what they do. Who enjoys what Jo Wood does? A celebrity she is not. (nor a dancer)

I'm also fully aware of her hobby business.

Yes - he didn't just say "her best bit was when she was standing still" - that's was only part of the sentence and the bit people are choosing to focus on.

Much as I like Jo, personally I think doing this show has backfired for her. I think it is sapping any self confidence she has left and I doubt if things are going to get any better in the coming weeks. IMHO it would be better if she was voted off next week, when at least she can say she wasn't voted off the show the first time she danced.

It's amazing how Jo manages to encapsulate the spirit of so many other lovely women: Julie Christie, Marianne Faithfull, Goldie Hawn, Judy Geeson, Barbara Windsor, Keith Richards' one time German girlfriend whose name I can't remember, and so on. All in their prime.

Now that I would have agreed with.

I'm with Fiddly Feltz on this I'm afraid.

I`ll have to disagree with you....I think there`s a chance that being saved by the public vote may give her a boost....She knows she`s not a celebrity "per say"(per-se) and I`am sure she may be asking herself what she`s got herself into.....but now she knows punters have actually picked up the phone to save her.....That thought alone must give her some sort of emotional lift.....I know if I were in her shoe`s I`d be overwhelmed to be saved by the public.

A very nice post oliver mchew I agree with you, and Brenden has to be congratulated for sticking up for Joe as he did and telling Craig what he thought of him to his face, Craig’s comments were nasty and uncalled for and spoil the show, he thoroughly deserved a good telling off from Brenden, and not before time.

Well, I suppose there's some truth in that as well. He's the picture in the attic though.

I am so pleased Jo was not in the dance-off. I think she has a natural elegance and grace and may not a "natural" talent but she is working her socks off and trying to be the best she can.. She is not 20 and therefore is not quite so flexible as the youngsters. Jo is to be commended. I am 100% behind Brendan standing up to The Judges - Craig goes overboard in his criticism and needs to be checked.

I really don't agree. Your last point is actually a double edged sword for Jo because yes, she will be relieved not to have been voted out straight away (so yah boo sucks! to Ronnie and his pretty young thing, etc.), but now she will feel even more under pressure to do well. So what you are saying just strengthens my point imho. She is clearly a bag of nerves about it all on and off the dance floor now and was already worried to death that she'd let people down. Now the pressure I'm sure in her mind has gone up big time because she was kept in by the public.

i used to watch hollyoaks and footballers' wives, and i'm a fan of the rolling stones, so i'd heard of all three of the examples before SCD - and i will admit that while i haven't even seen any products from her organics range, it's no lie or stretch of truth to call her a model, albeit some years ago now. how do you think she met ronnie? rock star marries model is hardly a rare concept.

I thought she was much better in last nights dance, and of course she looks fantastic and appears to be a very sweet person.
I was suprised however that she was not in the bottom two and wonder if Brendan's answering back Craig or Jo's potential to be the new 'Kate' or 'John' has anything to do with her staying at least another week.....
Hopefully the public voting to keep her will boost her confidence and by next week there will be an improvement. Brendan seems to have really taken to her.

I had forgotten about that remark until reading the bit about last night's competition in the NOTW and the first judge saying to Jo that she looks better standing still.
That was a rotten thing to say about her and so untrue.

Brendan was kinder to Fiona Phillips than she deserved. She just didn't put the hours in. She shouldn't have been as hopeless as she was. She just didn't bother.

it's possible i could only know one side of the story there, i didn't watch that series of SCD, all i heard about it was from fiona's column in a paper.
