Sorry. I didn't know they were dressed by the programme when they were learning the routines.

I think she looks great, though she dances like a carthorse.

And hasn't Ronnie left the bimbo and gone back to her?
(Grazia mag, if it's to be believed).

they had a very noisy row one day the week before last (apparently), and ronnie told the strumpet to go away (or words to that effect), but they're back together now as he's worried she'll sell her story.

i think jo's strong enough to stick to her guns and not take him back if he does come begging.

Those 60's/70's rock chicks definately give the tacky wags of today a run for their money in the beauty stakes.

Back to SCD - I have a real soft spot for Jo, and whilst I have always hated the poorer dancers being kept in by fans - I couldn't resist picking the phone up for her last night.

Unfortunately I had forgotten that we weren't watching in real time so were about 20 miutes behind as I had paused the TV when I was cooking. So the lines were closed

Serves me right for breaking my cardinal rule.

Entrepreneur - Does this refer to the fact that she's gonna walk off with wad of Rolling Stones cash for doing less than nothing? I've never heard of the Footballers' Wives actors or the bloke off Hollyoaks but that's only because I don't watch that type of TV programme but calling Jo Wood a celebrity? Come on!”

I would see it the other way around. Jo looks enthusiastic and is clearly trying hard and putting in the practice time. She's showing some improvement .She's getting bits of the acting right and Brendan is giving her proper routines to do. It obviously means a lot to her to be there.

John Sergeant seemed to me to be idle, I thought he treated the show like something to grace with his presence and was there to publicise his new TV show. His idea was this is all I can be bothered to do - laugh at that. His routines apart from his initial and final ones were designed to do the minimum possible and if anything he did less and got worse most weeks.

Jo shouldn't stay to the point at which any of the top half of the dancers are put in danger to keep her but there are quite a few other people to go first who don't have that much better cases to stay and seem less committed.I don't think she's going to be the JS problem his series - partly as they may already have bigger problem gtting rid of Joe with his fan base.

She has a very defeated attitude about her and IMO was the worst dancer tonight. Richard Dunwoody gave it absolute beans on that dancefloor, whereas it appeared Brendan just dragged a depressed granny around the floor. Its a shame, she should show some of the attitude in her VTs on the dancefloor and not look so glum and going for the sympathy vote.

What a great little partnership they have.

I think Brendan has matured a bit over the various series, certainly where his relationship with his partners is concerned.

He's very sensitive to Jo's fragility and does a terrific job looking after her.

I want to see her blossom before us.

What a lovely way to describe it. And I hope she does. Which is one of the reasons why I voted for her. I think she's lovely, and funny, and sweet. And her life apart from the tabloid press looked lovely and funny and sweet also. That part in the VT last night when she said something about not falling over and went backwards and fell over a box or something in front of her adorable grandkids. A bit of a loveable ditz in the best possible way. And I really enjoyed her Rumba, sexy and sweet and cuddlesome, so much better than I'd expected, and she was trying really hard. If we can put up with the razor edges we seem to get on the show every year, to love Strictly and get our annual fix, we can have some patience and give a non-combatant a chance to learn and grow, and keep making us smile, and hope.

Same here.

I really like Jo, there's something very endearing about her. In her prime she had a successful career as a model, lovely looking girl and still looks great IMO. Also her organics beauty range has been going for a few years now and is well regarded.

I love this post, especially the last sentence.

Brendan has gone up in my estimation this year because of how he is with Jo (although I still think he should have kept his gob shut last night until he got back to the red room and Tess).

It would be lovely to see her blossom as Sid says and I hope it happens.

Yes, do agree with this.
I really wanted to like her....we are a similar age.....but I can't I'm afraid, the airy fairy attitude, little girl voice, all the 'I want my family and friends to be proud of me' thing she repeats over and over.......nah, getting on my nerves now.
She looked defeated before she started dancing on Saturday imo.
Her hair and outfits didn't do much to help her either, she just looked a mess.

Craig was well out of order making such a negative personal remark, how insulting. And he's supposed to be the professional? Full marks to Brendan for sticking up for Jo - I cheered!

... IMO ... To be objective & fair ... it's not really comparing " apples with apples " when we compare dressing Laila with dressing Jo !!!

Still looking good for her age, in all honesty, Jo must have at least 20+ years on Laila ?? .... I'm nearly the same age as Jo & I wish I looked as good for MY age as Jo does for hers !!!!!

Do agree tho' ! .... think the wardrobe department could have been a little bit kinder to Jo this week !! ... dresses were appropriate / in keeping with the style for the dances she did .... but .... maybe a different colour choice would have been a little more flattering ????
