The dance-off would have made no difference to previous winners. Jill, Gough and Ramps all skated through to the final without hitting bottom 2 once and Kerplunk was only in there once, with David Dickinson.

They would not have saved David Dickinson.

Quote:
“Very early entries (more than once) into the dance off for Lisa and Rachel last year showed the judges”

Lisa didn't hit the dance-off until wk9, only one week before Alesha made her visit there (and after the same amount of dances). Rachel was only one week before that, in wk8. Most of the first half of last year was Heather clogging the dance-off up knocking out untalented men.

I am mystified by the perception of Jade as cold, arrogant, aloof and not enjoying herself. She comes across exactly the opposite to me.

As for this year, i think that Craig has some potential, however i think he may have gotten a bit of an emotional thumping this week and may not get over it. Also Natalie is a possible but her form may get in the way.”

I entirely agree. I think that as time goes on we could be in for some surprises.

I'd agree with that, I think Craig's got much more 'journey' potential then Ricky G - Craig looked quite decent in training, if he can pull it together for the live shows he could be a surprise package.

It's way too early to say, although Ricky W and Ali are obviously front runners at this point and will be around for ages, it's quite possible, in the later stages the public will get behind someone who's seen to improve over the course of the series, rather then someone who started out fantastically - down to the last 5/6 don't rule out an Ali - v - Ricky W bottom two

but Ricky G has chemistry with Erin. I see none between Flavia and Craig at all and thats a worry as even those that improve (Gethin and Camilla for example) have shown great chemistry from the outset.

Craig needs 'smiley' dances before he starts getting a connection, I reckon. Being hit with the ultra-serious tango and the tricky rumba in the first weeks can't have helped him. A bit of a laugh and a joke in the quickstep and I reckon he'll come through a bit more.

I'm also not sure that chemistry is ever a substitute for actually being able to dance. Rav and Aliona, for example, had some smokin' moments in their rumba, but can the fella move? Nope! (PS: I do actually like Rav, this is a just a fair assessment of his ability at this stage)

Tuffers is a very good outside bet to win.

Despite Ricky Whittle at the moment being the best dancer i am positive he will not win and i am tempted to lay him at big odds on Betfair.

I agree - and I will stick my neck out and predict we will see contestants who are currently scoring more than he is at present leave before he does.

Of course, there is a long way to go yet - but I don't think anything is definite just yet, primarily because viewers haven't really got to know the celebs ...

Tuffers. Ricky G.
Can't agree with OP. Far too soon to tell.
What about Jade?

I can't see Jade winning - she doesn't seem to have as much likeability factor as Jill or Alesha had - but this is just my opinion.

I hope Tuffers doesn't win - his supposed cheekiness doesn't appeal to me at all.

I too agree that Ricky W will have a hard time winning it from such a strong start, as this can work against some contestants.

I'm liking Chris (and Ola) and Zoe (and James) but I don't think either of them has a big enough fan base to win. Things may change though.

OK apologise for so shamefully bumping this post but I just wanted to let you know that I do get some things right on here

Away back at the start I predicted one of these 5 would win it and it looks like I am right

You should all listen to your Uncle Bhoy more if you want to know stuff about SCD

Rather by luck than management, but I have to hand it to you, Bhoy!

Welll to be honsest Zoe perhaps would still be there too if it wasnt for her being unlucky coming up against Ali

I new that they all had either good public support or were good at the dancing from week 2.This is why I said this then
