Sony MD Player
Can I use a MZ-N910 BACKLIT remote on an MZ-N710 (with no baclight)? Will it work properly, or will it mess up my MD Player? I know the remote works by something to do with electrical resistance (ohms). Any technical (or other) people here that can help me out here? Thanks.
BTW, does the 910 Remote work in the same way as an old MZ-R900 Remote? My bro (away from home at the mo) has got an MZ-R900 and I'm gonna try it on my 710 when I can. Thanks again. |

I am not that technical but i'm pretty sure all Sony remotes can be used with any of their MD machines, they all have the same connection after all. So your backlit one will still be backlit on the other machine.
I have both the 900 and 910 and have just swapped them with no problems. |

For spare remotes, I would recommend keeping an eye out for them on eBay. You sometimes see damaged main units with parts including remotes going cheap as spares.
Alternatively, try contacting Sony. A mate of mine tried this, but was quoted some outrageous price - over £50 if I remember correctly. |

The official back-lit ones from Sony cost quite a bit of cash but you can pick them up quite cheaply from eBay.
