Don't forget the Freeview retune this week - on or after the 30th.

If you have not updated your firmware recently, you MUST do so before rescanning, otherwise channels will appear on the wrong numbers afterwards.

Or of course if you are a bit retro like me, you can continue to run an older firmware as long as it has been platched with the Split NIT patch.

Hi, my elderly neighbour has called on me with a problem with his Topfield 5800 PVR. He has done a rescan and now so have I, but Channel 5 is missing along with other silly things.

He likes watching Neighbours so he is a bit stuck.

Anyway I have told him it probably needs a firmware upgrade or software download. Do they do 'over-the-air' upgrades?

My Dad also has a Freeview box that doesn't work now. So much for people doing the digital switchover early!!!

You'll probably find there are two channels fives, the old with nothing and the new one. Prerss the OK button to see, and then the red to delete the unwanted versions.
Alternative do a Factory Reset and rescan.

Cheers, yes I will do a factory reset first. Channel 5 was 1010 or something. Split NIT's! I thought you only got those at school
