I'm not a fan of anyone on Strictly...and until there's some solid and plausible evidence one way or the other that the new judging panel is better or worse than the original one, neutrality is the only sensible position to take.

I do not come into any of these categories!

I am neither "a fan" or "not a fan" of Alesha. I am neutral about the lady herself .

Where do I vote?

My category needs to be "I am neutral, I am neutral"

I dont think she should have been a judge in the first place, but I commend her for doing as well as she can.

She really doesnt deserve the stick she gets. She's doing her best and I thought she was never all that bad in the first place.

`"She's doing a great job," he told the News of the World. "The people who are criticising her are uneducated. They don't necessarily know what they are talking about. Anyone who criticises her needs to get a life."`

From Brendan Cole in one of the papers - shall I put a tick against No1 or No2 for him

Interesting! The Alesha fans think it's a bad idea for her to be a judge, those who aren't Alesha fans think it's a good idea.

Not that enamoured with any of the judges actually.
Alesha is no better or worse.

Sorry, I just like the dancing, can't be bothered with the judges or Brucie or any of the other parts.
I like the dancing and I watch the results part....

Judges mark but do not speak? That's how it was done in Come Dancing, and is still done in real dance competitions. You were born too late.

Sorry it's not working for me and I am a fan of Alesha. She's a lovely girl but she adds nothing to the show. I did not like Arlene and was not sorry to see her go but I thought she would be replaced by a professional dancer or choreographer. I think the judging panel needs another professional dancer someone like Karen Hardy would be great. She has been through the Strictly experience, she has won it and of course is a professional dancer. She would be very fair.
I just think it is a sad shame that the BBC is insistent with its pursuit of ratings and having a "Cheryl" equivalent, I as a viewer couldn't care less.

I do not think that Alesha is a good judge at all

If this is true then perhaps she won't be judging much longer anyway

Went with "I am neutral, not a fan", but I'm fairly neutral towards Alesha to be honest.

George "You are either with us or against us" Bush has gone now , and "not a fan" no longer denotes an opponent. Anyone who is not a fan, is "not a fan".

It is interesting that Alesha's fans take a very objective view about this particular role -- they are the biggest group opposing it. Care to say why?

Rather than saying whether Alesha or not should be there (personalising it) I would ask "Should there be a judge without substantial professional dance or choreography experience on SCD"?

FWIW I don't mind either way although clearly a lot of folk do.

None of those responses really suits me.

Arlene knew summat about dance even though her remarks had grown tired and lame. She was no worse than Len or Bruno so why not get rid of them?

Alesha isn't doing badly. I think she's improving.

She always irritated me a wee bit and I liked Gethin a lot.

So she wasn't a good choice and I'm not a "fan" like some people are but she's doing well and can't we just let her alone?

Well...I'm not a fan exactly, but I do like her. Just not as a judge.

i am a huge fan of alesha however as a judge it is just not working for me but she is no worse than len and doesnt deserve the amount of stick she has been getting

I would have preferred her as co-presenter, but I like her as a judge. Arlene was obviously more qualified, but terrible in front of a camera - I don't mean looks or age, I mean that she was so scripted, stumbling over her lines, her terrible alliterations, and her embarassing perving of the younger hot men.

The general principle of job qualifications is one aspect, but there are others and how. This furore is not about whether Gethin, Mark, Tom, Darren, Jill or Natasha should sit as a judge. Each proposition would trigger a different debate.

Besides the nature of the job, the spotlight falls on candidate Alesha. Personalised attributes would also bear on the decision as in other important job interviews.
