STEAMING ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena has branded two of the current line-up as a “pair of snakes”.

She hit out at Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah over their treatment of original Sugababe Keisha Buchanan.

But Mutya – who is so angry that she is now demanding the band is re-named – was not shocked at the way Keisha was forced out.

Mum-of-one Mutya quit the group –which she co-founded with Keisha, in 2005 – following the birth of her baby daughter.

And after seeing the first pictures of the latest line-up – with Eurovision songbird Jade Ewen replacing her old mate – she said: “It’s just so wrong. I phoned Keisha as soon as I heard what had happened.

“She is my friend. We grew up together. And it’s all been so harsh on her. She’s been really upset.

“But do you know what? She’ll pick herself up and realise that she is best off out of it.

“If the people you work with don’t show you the respect you deserve then you shouldn’t work with them.

“The music industry is full of snakes and sharks and Keisha had to work with two of its biggest snakes.

“Heidi should have backed Keisha. But there you have it. She didn’t. And who knows what might happen?

“They might decide to get rid of Jade in exactly the same way. Yeah, she’s a pretty girl – but that’s about it.

“The thing about her is she doesn’t say too much. You never know what she is really thinking.

“And as for Amelle, well, she’s no victim. All this talk about her being bullied is just rubbish.

“Trust me, she is a tough girl who is always running her mouth. But there are now no originals left in the band, so how can they call themselves the Sugababes? It’s a joke.

‘That was our name. Our manager used to call us his Sugababies.

“I find it all so wrong that they’d want to carry on under our name. Now it’s just a joke.”

Sexy Mutya, 24, showing off her stunning new figure following bum implants and a boob job courtesy of the Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group, believes that Heidi, 26, and Amelle, 25, will now become Jade’s backing singers.

Although she hasn’t met Keisha’s replacement she thinks she has a good voice, adding: “At the end of the day someone has got exactly what they wanted – and that was Keisha out and Jade in.

“None of it shocks or surprises me at all. Now I think they’re going to end up like Diana Ross and The Supremes. Heidi and Amelle will be Jade’s backing singers.

“It’s now all about what they look like, not what they sound like. I think before we definitely had the sound. We were raw. Now it’s going to be a lot more polished and manufactured.

Mutya is working on her new album, due out next year. And once Keisha, 24, has decided what she wants to do next, she would love it if they worked together again – possibly with original member Siobhan Donaghy, 25, joining them in the studio.

Mutya’s new single Fallin’ – a collabor-ation with Agent X and Ultra – is out today

BTW

Yesterday in response to a fan question about what was going on with Mutya and her, Keisha said this
“That’s why I feel so strongly about them dropping our name.”

She's been there for me...I love her to bits x

I agree with some of what she says - in paticular it's about what they look like and not what they sound like now, which is the opposite of how it was in the early days.

If anything good comes out of this, it appears that it is mending bridges with Keisha and Mutya and also getting Mutya some free publicity for her new album. You can't blame her for being opportunistic here, as that's exactly what has happened with Jade.

And if the managements plan really is to make Jade the lead and Heidi and Amelle the backing singers then expect even more fireworks to come, as there's no way Amelle will accept that.

But they never really had a lead before.
It was just that Heid was always given the least share of the vocals.

Exactly, so there's no way that Heidi and Amelle will accept this if it is the managements plan.

heard a lot of talk about jade coming in to be "the lead" - seems the management are doing what they want, not what the band or the fans want.

I think that's a bit rich considering the way she left the band, totally behind the backs of her bandmates. She didn't seem to care about the future of her two mates then and seem slightly offended by the fact that when she quit they carried on and replaced her.

Lol there'll still be fireworks but at least this way they won't be able to pin any of it on Keisha.

Good luck to both Keisha and Mutya whatever they do - they were the soul and voices of the Sugababes.

And btw those 'quotes' are from the Daily Star - 'nuff said!

but she left the band to take better care of her child - she just did what would get her out of her responsibilities to the band quickest. it was her choice to leave, no-one tried to oust her in such an underhand manner as they did keisha.

Mutya left the band because she was suffering from post-natal depression. She wasn't really in a fit emotional state to make rational decisions. Perhaps she regrets her actions, but what's done is done.

Shut up Mutya - you didn't want to know about Keisha, Heidi or the band when you left the girls high and dry without so much as a word - then when your solo career flopped and saw that Keisha was getting lots of symphathy after she was sacked, lo and behold she's jumping on the Keisha bandwagon and pretending to be her best friend. Keisha is an idiot if she thinks that Mutya has her best interests at heart. She's just acting like a concerned friend, to get her name in the papers and boost her flagging career.

And Heidi and Amelle have got every right to call themselves Sugababes. They weren't in the original line up, but nobody forced Siobhan and Mutya to leave!

Erm she abandoned them in the first place by leaving, so why should she expect the rest of them to follow suit?
I wish she'd piss off and stop using their name to promote her new single and trying to get her name back in the papers.

The

is there

Anyway this is all very odd. Keisha hated Mutya when she first left and said a few weeks ago they hardly spoke anymore. Keisha even wanted Amelle to record over Mutya's vocals on the Greatest Hits and Mutya has never spoken to Heidi since she left and Keisha said Heidi tried loads of times to talk with her and Mutya wouldn't have it.

strange situation.

Keisha and Mutya are both on record as saying they are like sisters - sometimes they hate each other, and sometimes they get on well.

Mutya is a fine one to talk she walked out without telling the other two.

Keisha is on record saying they hardly speak and have spoken only a handfull of times since Mutya left. In Keisha's words its just a 'hi' in passing. She has said it not once but a few times.

Now they are on record saying they are like sisters?

I generally feel sorry for Keisha

She was the essence of this band. This was her baby. She has spent 11 years of her life working in this band. The music biz is all she knows. She kept this band in order even when Mutya was still in the band. The fact they got rid of her, is personally wrong. I hope Keisha goes solo and that her song with Jay sean makes his new album in the states and goes down well.
