I have used (but not owned) two touch screen Samsung phones including the Tocco Ultra, which was supposed to have a new more responsive touch screen. I found it bloody awful. The 5800's touch screen is up there with the iphone/ipod touch.

The Samsung does look like a nice phone. A 480 x 800 screen, 2GB internal storage and a 5MP camera just for starters. If you want it on PAYG you can get it from Carphone Warehouse. Their phones are sold unlocked (though they are not advertised as such), so you just buy it on whatever network it is cheapest on, then put your own sim in it. Ask in store and they will confirm it for you before you buy. You do have to put £10 credit on when you buy the phone as well though.

The review was done when the phone cost more.
The 5800 has been out a year now and gone down since.
