CPW will need to change their homepage soon as it still states that the Iphone 3GS is only on O2

Would this mean that the ever so famous visual voicemail would be on orange as well ?
Impossible to say for sure at this point, however I would say that visual voicemail is not supported by all carriers that offer the iPhone - and I believe that none of the other European arms of Orange who offer the iPhone do visual voicemail for it - so I wouldn't be surprised if Orange UK don't either. It will hardly be a dealbreaker if they don't though - sure it's a handy feature, but one you can easily live without.

This is brilliant news. O2's iPhone tariffs are just terrible, so hopefully Orange will be able to do better, plus their 3G coverage kicks all the other network's arses!

Oh goody, the chance to experience the worst phone for reliability, on the network consistently rated worst for customer service. Given my last experience as an Orange customer, I think I'll be sticking to a more courteous, professional and honest supplier for my next mobile phone contract.

According to your link Orange in France offer visual voicemail. It's certainly not something I'd consider a drawback not having - never had it before, and don't let calls go to VM that often anyway.

I was subtly hinting that I knew the answer but had to be careful how I worded it as I don't want to be seen leaking information that isn't already in the public domain. Which is why I asked the really rhetorical question "Would Apple let Orange brand the iPhone?"

However on the F&F side of things - I'd refer to similar products as much as I could such as the aforementioned Nokia CMW tarrrifs and Laptop/Netbooks - which you are not allowed the F&F Discount on. The F&F Discount is only available on Animal Tarrifs - and the iPhone will be launching on it's own specific tarrifs. I'd have to leave you to make your own conclusions from that.
Checking the CWM it seems the discount does work, although you are right in regards to the laptops. Instore it can't be used unless we put it through on perk but then we get a smack for that even if we're staff.......maybe we will be able to with the iPhone if it is the case then I shall wait till just my contract is up with O2 then and I shall move to the network I work for......be hard leaving blackberry behind lol.

Orange Telesales staff are extremely well paid bonus wise. But they also do a 1st Class job, and perform exceptionally well.

When I used to work for O2 they outsourced a lot of their work, for example Retentions were handled by an Outsource call centre near Barnsley called Ventura. I'm not sure if they still operate like that as I left a few years ago, but at that time Retentions staff for O2 were paid no bonus!
I didn't realise O2 outsourced, thought that was a Vodafone thing. As for Orange Telesales can't argue, I know as a basic the wage is pretty healthy and commission on top is quite nice from what the people in 267 tell me at least anyway. Be nice if we had access to the same discounting as people in Telesales but we don't, we have to work a lot harder to close the sale which saddens me, even just a little bit discount would help somewhat. Anyway am digressing...... from what I know we reckon we will launch the iPhone in november, allegedly we may not be carrying the new blackberry either as a result of this (given we had an exclusivity period on the Bold last year). Should be interesting although now I have to worship the jesus phone and all its brilliance.....

We already do in a way for other phones, you can buy a 3 gig bundle for about 17 quid and that would allow you to link up the mobile to your laptop.....

This bundle is it a monthly cost or can you add it & use it when needed until it runs out ?

Ah good spot - I obviously needed more coffee before I checked the page!

I am glad to hear about all the people that seem to have a good signal with orange. Its a shame I or the other half cant. I have had to jump to o2 as orange half always been so so poor in my area. I could never get i signal at work or at home. and would rearly beable to finish a call in the house without it beeping and saying disconnected. this has happened with 3 different phones from orange and happens to the other half to. since moving to 02 i have never had a call disconnect or had my mates try to call only to get a txt saying some has tried to call but left no message. so for me o2 are far better.

good news all round i always said more carriers more iphone owners some people simply wont change network simply for a phone.

on another point it would be nice to see scottishgirl come on here and say sorry to all those she insulted quite nastily whenever the suggestion apple might start selling on other networks.

Wow if it does work on CMW tarrifs it shouldn't! Purely because of the arrangement on those between Orange and Nokia. Would mean Nokia were also discounting, which I doubt they have agreed to.

Telesales aren't allowed to place F&F orders at all - it must be done through the web, so at least you guys can claim for those sales :P

I've had an iPhone in the past, and I must say I loved it. I am now back using a BlackBerry full time, purely for the email facility as it can't be beat, but I may well consider having another phone onto my staff account (discount or not) for a nice shiny iPhone 3G S as you can't beat the App Store, BlackBerry World doesn't even come close.

CPW will probably be selling on all 3 networks, so they might have unlocked stock like they do for the rest of their handsets

Yeah CPW may indeed have unlocked devices, but we will have to wait to see on that front.

Fairly irrelvent but it's been the source of much amusement in the office today.

Girl at work has gone on for weeks about hating to leave Orange but desperate to have a iPhone... so last Friday after much gnashing of teeth and many years as customer left Orange to get a IPhone from O2.

Yes..just last Friday and then this announcement today..
I'm in the same boat!
Was just about to post....

So, after months of deliberation about leaving Orange (I'm a very satisfied customer 13+ years) I finally decide the only phone I like is an iPhone.
Pop into town on Saturday fully expecting the good old "Sorry no stock" line from 02, got a really helpful sales girl who said pop over to Apple they have stock!
Off I go, come out with shiny new iPhone - one happy camper but still not best pleased to be leaving Orange.
Ring Orange on Monday1st thing to get PAC & MAC codes...... you know what's coming obviously!

Well here's the deal, should I cancel the new 02 contract within 14 days and wait for Orange, or just get on with it on 02?

I know the loyalty thing probably doesn't count for much but as I mentioned above I'm really happy with Orange!
I made them put a note on my account to that effect when I called them on Friday to ask what my options were.

Apologies for the long 1st post (not counting the one above!) but I'm at a bit of a loss as to which way to jump!

Thanks

JB

I really want to see their price plans.

I am currently a Panther 30 SIM-Free customer, and wondering what their plans are.

So I waited..... and waited.....
I read the threads and rumours that Orange would stock the iPhone.
I went into the shop regularly with my battered old nokia 6230 and a contract that had run out in Feb, asking if the iPhone was available on Orange yet.
Then last month I finally gave in and signed a new contract and got a really crappy nokia e75 which I hate as it's so slow and keeps crashing on me. The guy selling me the new contract said that Orange would not be stocking the iphone so I may as well upgrade for something else.

At least I didn't leave Orange for o2 as that would be salt in an open wound but I doubt i'm going to get any good deal on a new iphone soon! grrr

I feel sorry for those that have moved and are now locked into something they didn't have to do if only they had known
