So I waited..... and waited.....
I read the threads and rumours that Orange would stock the iPhone. I went into the shop regularly with my battered old nokia 6230 and a contract that had run out in Feb, asking if the iPhone was available on Orange yet. Then last month I finally gave in and signed a new contract and got a really crappy nokia e75 which I hate as it's so slow and keeps crashing on me. The guy selling me the new contract said that Orange would not be stocking the iphone so I may as well upgrade for something else. At least I didn't leave Orange for o2 as that would be salt in an open wound but I doubt i'm going to get any good deal on a new iphone soon! grrr I feel sorry for those that have moved and are now locked into something they didn't have to do if only they had known |

So, after months of deliberation about leaving Orange (I'm a very satisfied customer 13+ years) I finally decide the only phone I like is an iPhone.
Pop into town on Saturday fully expecting the good old "Sorry no stock" line from 02, got a really helpful sales girl who said pop over to Apple they have stock! Off I go, come out with shiny new iPhone - one happy camper but still not best pleased to be leaving Orange. Ring Orange on Monday1st thing to get PAC & MAC codes...... you know what's coming obviously! Well here's the deal, should I cancel the new 02 contract within 14 days and wait for Orange, or just get on with it on 02? I know the loyalty thing probably doesn't count for much but as I mentioned above I'm really happy with Orange! I made them put a note on my account to that effect when I called them on Friday to ask what my options were. Apologies for the long 1st post (not counting the one above!) but I'm at a bit of a loss as to which way to jump! Thanks JB |

Hi guys,
I was due an upgrade in October but about 4 months ago I upgraded early (I was allowed to as I'm a high spend customer just had a £150 charge) to a Blackberry as I hated the Samsung I currently had. Always wanted an iPhone but only if on Orange. Does anyone know if Orange will be doing anything like O2 did with regards to upgrading early (not sure of the details of what O2 did)? Alternatively, maybe purchase a pay as you go iPhone on Orange and change price plan to an appropriate one? I'm thinking my Blackberry price plan would be ok? |

be patient cancel O2 and stay with orange? least ride it out till they announce the price plans
One thing is for sure they won't be any more expensive. Does anyone forsee an issue with setting up a new 02 contract in the future (should I ever need to) if I cancel this one? |

shouldn't see there being a problem, if they do mention about you already had an O2 number you could just say I tried the phone out for a couple days and didn't like it but since used someone elses iPhone and just coming back to O2 for an iPhone

Internal docs I have seen indicate 1st or 2nd week of November for iPhone launch on Orange, as this is when pre-order POS is due to be removed in store on 2nd November, with an indicative release very shortly after......
Not 100% though as you can understand. |

Happy days!
Can't wait, even though I have the phone already, I'll miss it when it's gone until my Orange one arrives! Customer service is a funny thing..........I'm a big fan of the O's CS but I have spoken to 3 people in the last half hour, 2 very helpful, although totally non comital about the iPhone obviously, the other was very short with me, rather than re-directing my call, said.. you do realise you can dial 150...... Ah well. Not enough to put me off. |

The Apple iPhone on Orange
Hi,
I want to get an Apple iPhone very soon but keep putting it off to see if I can get a good deal with o2 when Orange start to sell it. Can someone tell me when Orange are going to start sell the iPhone? Thanks in advance.

Once Orange/TMobile merge their 3G networks they could have an enticing proposition.

Meh if it happens it happens if it don't it don't. I suspect however should it go through the Orange/Vodafone site share will be suspended. |

Went into 2 Orange shops today and asked if there was any news on the release of the iPhone.
Both times I was told that it would likely be sometime in November, but they hadn't had anything confirmed yet. Probably doesn't add anything to info already know, but I thought I'd share it anyway. |

There are only a very select few that know the launch date of the Orange iPhone. And the people that know are bound by strict confidentiality clauses, so you won't see any Orange staff discussing it on an open forum.
Best way to be the first to know is registering your interest on the Orange website. PS: Please don't PM me about it either as I cannot give any information. I like my job
