The Bennets are somewhat restricted by their height - the sports personalities who generally go far tend to be taller (e.g. Denise, Colin etc.) bar the cricketers, one of whom Lilia did get. Taller celebs are partnered with taller pros. Also, the older ladies tend to be shorter for some reason, so Darren gets them.

Darren and Vincent are just suffering this year cos there are no short, good ladies then, is that it?!

And I'm sure Lilia is not that much smaller than a lot of the other women? She doesn't seem, for example, to be a lot tinier than Flavia, who seems to have lucked out with the tallish Craig.

I think Lilia, Flavia, Kristina and Ola are all about 5'2? Aliona and Katya are 5'5, Erin is 5'6 and Natalie is 5'9 ... I think.

They do sometimes do odd height pairings though: e.g. Andrew Castle was too tall for Ola; Austin was a bit too small for Erin; I think Natalie Cassidy this series is a little tall for Vincent.

More the case with Darren than Lilia. Barring really tall men, Lilia can dance with most people. She isn't really restricted to people as short as Darren.

The partnerships aren't just based on height, whatever anyone says. Otherwise how do you explain series six- Camilla with Tom but Ola with Andrew. Height-wise Andrew was put at a real disadvantage having to hunch over someone so much smaller (really it was hardly surprising his bottom stuck out), whilst Tom and Camilla were virtually the same height. And even on fairness, Camilla had had Gethin the previous year whilst Ola got lumbered with Kenny.


You think Flavia lucked out with Craig? Granted he's not as rhythmless as Richard, but he's hardly the draw of the century!

Height isn't really an issue for the women pro but it is for the men. I think they didn't really look for great short celebs this year as Vincent came 2nd last year and Darren has won, came 3rd and 4th. But Lilia and Darren should get good partners next year esp Lilia after the partners she has had in recent series - Dom, Don and Dunwoody (avoid a D name ) the last 2 are nice guys but not great dancers

On the internet Lilia and Kristina are 5'3'' with Flavia at 5'2" and Ola is anything between 5'2 - 5'4" depending on what site you are on
