Bluetooth hands free car kits

Anyone here using one of these bluetooth modules for the car?

I've been using the ear piece for a while and I hate it.

Spotted one by Parrot in Halfords, I'm wondering if this would be a better way to go wireless.

Are they compatible with a variety of mobiles, I have a Sony Ericsson K850i, and are they easy to install, I wont something discrete, something like this that looks to just clip to the visor.

Is the model above any good?

Any model recommendations.....

I've got two Parrot kits. Both work fine. However they are old kits. One is about 5 years old and the other 3. They will NOT work with my N97. They did work with my N95.

I know the newest can be flashed with an upgrade. By the time I remove it from the car and take it to a service centre the toal cost would be prohibitive. It would be more cost effective to purchase new and have at least a warranty.

I have been toying with the idea of changing the stereo to a BT enabled one but don't know how good those are.

The model you've shown can be got cheaper elsewhere. In fact you could get the CK3000 for the same price. It is 'hardwired' which basically means unplugging the DIN plug from your stereo and plugging in the Parrot in series. The hardest part is routing the microphone cable.

In use the stereo is muted when making or receiving calls with the call sound coming out of the car speakers.

Cheers for the reply.

The Parrot looks to be what I'm looking for so I'll give it a go.

The cheapest I found it online for was £51-45, so a few bob saved.

I had a look on Orange and it says it's compatible with my phone.

Can't wait to ditch the ear piece.....
