Seeing as for the first time in a while Anton has someone with talent, how long do we think it'll be until the BBC start pushing the fact that Anton over 7 series never has got a 10, and is dying to get one .

We've seen it before with Mark and Karen is series 4 when they started becoming clear favourites, and also with Colin in series 3 (although I think that was fueled slightly by Erin being apposed to Zoe's 10s).

What's the highest mark Anton has ever got, it must have been with Lesley back in series 2.

We have contestants itching to get their first ten every year.

I've not noticed pros who have never received a ten making a bigger deal of it than those who have.

To be honest, a 10 has lost some of its kudos for me. The top score has been dished out far too often in recent series. It should be saved for those dances that truly have that extra something special.

His Tango with Patsy scored quite highly... can't remember the exact marks though.

34, for both his Foxtrot with Lesley and Tango with Patsy.

I would think he'll top that this year.

It's been around for a few days, originally started to complain about the million and one ways people spell Alesha, but then turned into a general correction thread. Due to it being completly off-topic though it was closed .

I think if Anton and Laila don't get a 10 for one of his 'good' ballroom dances like the QS or maybe the Foxtrot, then I'd say Laila isn't as good as a lot of people are making out. A pretty face and a good figure doesn't make you a better dancer.

i already think this, if i'm honest.

her being overly-competitive with zoe is wearing thin too.

Missing out on a 10 in Ballroom wouldn't make Laila some sort of failure. Anton may well be the king of this discipline, but his partner is still learning from scratch.

At any rate, attaining a 9 would be highly commendable too and I expect plenty of 9s from Laila in the Ballroom if her Tango is anything to go by - she has already shown that she is much more than a pretty face.

Hi Miss L

It comes across as a fun/jokey rivalry (that has been hyped up by the producers) to me. A bit like what we saw last year between Austin and Tom.

I do think feisty, competitive females are received less favourably than their male counterparts sometimes.

Especially as Zoe is so much better and Laila is having difficulty remembering the routines. Less verbal and more concentration is what's needed at the moment I think.

I'm not saying Laila would be a failure and I totally agree a 9 would be acceptable - for anybody! But the way the judges raved over Laila's Tango at the weekend was OTT imho and I think they could be building her up for something she can't deliver no matter who her partner is. All I'm saying she's got the best chance of a 10 in a ballroom dance with Anton.

So many people are so eager to criticise Anton that I can see him being blamed for the lack of success Laila might have, rather than accepting she might have something to do with it too.

hello sid!

it wasn't bothering me too much in the run-up to the show, but it was particularly when laila said something to the effect of "kicking zoe's arse" - which i understand was probably meant jokingly - but zoe looked like she was struggling to maintain a smile and a light reaction, and it just irks me that she keeps bringing it up so much.

It's nothing to do with being "feisty", it's to do with her personality becoming potentially annoying.

I don't think her Tango was all that really. She clearly wasn't marked down because of her mess up and you couldn't even see her feet because of the Waltz-like dress. I think the favouritism towards Laila, matched with this so called "feisty attitude" *ahem*, along with Anton's ever so funny quips , could make me dislike this partnership a lot.

But... I'll give her a chance.

Erin was a right jealous cow in series 3.

just so you know Lesley was in series 1 Anton had Esther Rantzen in series 2

I never realised that Anton never had a 10, he has a good chance of getting one this year in a ballroom dance but he doesn't have a chance of winning until he takes the latin dances as seriously as he does the ballroom.

Just dancing the latin in time would be a good start
