Ciara READIES new album!!!!

Ciara has been laying low as of late, but for good reason. The R&B singer is well into recording her fourth album and we’ve got the exclusive details.

Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”

The 23-year-old ATLien relocated to the West Coast to work on the album with Tricky and Dream, who crafted “High Price” and “Like a Surgeon” off this year’s Fantasy Ride. “She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.

The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”

Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”

The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with Rap-Up.com. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is the record with her and Dream together.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her best work yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business.”

I wouldn't say she is a flop

1st album sold 3 million copies in the US
First single goodies was one of the biggest hits of 2004 in the US
1.2 step and Oh soon followed and became just as successful

Her second album gave her a first number 1 album and went platinum
And out of that album she got 3 top 20 hits

Her last album bombed and to be honest, it's one of the worst r&b albums ever.

I agree with this.
Fantasty Ride was cheese R'n'b album.
The lyrics were crass the melodies and beats just blended into each other sounding virtually the same. Work contained too much rapping from CiCi. More vocals were need in that track. Maybe it would have been good then. High Price is just awful. The sound is enough to make you want to delete to track from the album.
Like A surgeon, has some of the most cheese ridden lyrics I've ever heard. Really....how could she take her self seriously with this one I have no idea.
Keep and Dancin On Me and Tell Me What Your Name is are like twins of each other in terms of sound. No distinction sound wise whatesoever between.
Pucker Up is on the same level with High Price.
I Don't Remember is a forgettable ballad like Keep Dancin On Me and Tell Me What Your Name is.
The wannabe ''hood'' song that is G Is For Girl becomes annoying, repetitive and rather generic in sound after a few listens.
Ciara To The Stage, is just as cringe worthy as Like a Surgeon Lyrically and melody wise.
The only good songs on the album are Never Ever (not the remix version released) Echo, and Turntables (which I've only really heard a few times before all the CB/RiRi situation on Youtube).
Ciara made a mistake by not investing as much creativity as she did lyrically on the first two albums on this record. This album has lot of songwriters on it, however the last two albums she wrote a lot of the songs.
She needs to go back to basics with her old sound and evolve and work with that.

I loved Fantasy Ride, it's one of my favorite albums this year. I think it should have done better than it did and 'Work' should have a been a top 10 hit.

I'll be looking forward to what she gonna bring out with this new album and hopefully the whole album don't leak months before it's release like last time.

I saw her live in June and she was incredible and that was before the video for Work was even released, so why is the article claiming she's been laying low for a while? Its barely been a couple of months!

I'm excited though, she's definitely capable of better than Fantasy Ride, Love Sex Magic and Work were both fantastic and the album isn't awful, it's just not very memorable either, I could listen to it straight through and enjoy it, but couldn't pick out any stand out tracks bar the singles really.

Because she hasn't released a US Single since Love Sex Magic in February.
16.5 million records worldwide, I wouldn't call her a flop.
I'm excited about this.

I liked Fantasy Ride but its no The evolution (which IMO is one of the best R.n.B albums of recent times. I think the standout tracks, Love, sex, Magic, Turntables, Never Ever and Work are brilliant but the rest of the album is very lacklustre. A bunch of ballads all clustered together and none of them that memorable.

Maybe she needed to regroup and do something else, maybe it'll work out better for her to work with one set of producers...too mnay cooks and all that.

I would love to see her go back to 'The Evolution' era, So many good tracks on that album never seen the light of day i think if she'd stayed on that route she would have done so much better.

In fairness other songs were sent to radio, but flopped at radio!

She needs to take time and not rush, or she will blink and become Christina Millian!

Her third album did have a lot to offer. Turntables was the best track. One of my fav dance tracks ever. Wicked collab with Brown.

Hope she turns it around with the 4th album.

I like her music and she comes across well in interviews, but I think she peaked with 'Goodies' and hasn't reached that standard again.

I hope she goes back to doing 'goodies', '1,2 step' type stuff. Her current stuff ain't that good.

To be fair, only Like A Surgeon was sent and didn't get an adds date because they pulled it.
