If Darcey becomes the fourth judge and takes her place, Alesha can still dance in the Christmas Special, as per last year.

That would be completely inappropriate.

Darcy is not replacing anyone. There will be five judges from the quarter finals onwards.

I hope she doesnt dance again this year she has done two years in a row...would rather see some we havent seen for a while.

I doubt she will be asked.

My guess would be: top 4 couples plus Tom/Camilla plus maybe bring back Daren/Lillia or Mark/Karen.

Please can we have someone different.......Tom was last series and did the tour they can rest him for a bit (hopefully) I would rather see Lillia and Matt Dawson for a change from Darren

Someone different would be good.

If its the top 4 from this year and names that are being flung about it rather ruins it for me as it would mean no Matt and no Ian!

Would love Matt and Christine back but suspect Lisa and Brendan, Rachel and Vincent somewhere in the mix.

Gethin and Camilla back would be nice!

Emma and Darren LOL!!

Louisa and Vincent.

I think it will depend on pros still in the running at the time. Kelly only one to dance with another different pro (not including tours)

People competely different would be nice. Perhaps they can ask Aled to come back with Lilia. Was told he was very popular and danced a very good foxtrot.

But I suspect it would be mostly last year's semi-finalists, y'know, the usual suspects like Tom Chambers, Lisa Snowdon and Rachel Stevens. Perhaps they may ask Austin Healy to return and dance a waltz or something. That would be nice too.

I think like many of you it would be good to see some different couples this year.

Would love to see of course the top four from this current series, whoever they may be, and also the following:

Julian and Lilia - for the sheer fun factor - could do Jingle Bells with his sparkly maraccas

Austin and Erin - I feel Erin is being a little overshadowed this year (through some really nice dancers though) and it would be nice to see her enjoy a lovely partnership once again - they perform so well together and were hugely popular, so it would be fun

Christine and Matt - doing their jive because that was a real feel-good dance and lots of people would love Matt to be part of it

and finally

John Sergeant and Kristina - just for the absolute hell of it.

Would be a great Christmas Special!

And Arlene to return as Mother Claus just to make things difficult!

And what kind of music would be suitable?

What is he going to wear, Santa outfit with open chest, and a fake beard, wavingn his red goodies bag around like a cape?

Exactly, it would be comedy genius. They should do it to a rocked-out version to 'Santa Claus is Coming To Town', but I guess it would give the kiddies nightmares for weeks.

And the ever delightful print media will crucify BBC right through to New Year 2010.

Ok I put my hand up .....a little part of me would like to see John and Kristina do an Xmas Samba (my particular fav from his memorable time on SCD )

Dont know if my xmas lunch would survive both John and Julian on one show........but Julian would be fab yes.

It's always been tradition for the winner of the previous year to take part in the Christmas Special. I don't see why they should change this. So definitely Tom then. The top 3 from this year... and... Austin & Emma Bunton would be my extra choices.

Ooo, what about John Sargent dressing up as Santa and dragging Kristina along for HIS paso?!

This may be controversial, but since the Xmas special is supposed to be a bit of fun, how about a reunion of all the no hopers?!

Kate Garraway, John Sergeant, Fiona Phillips, Julian Clary, Christoper Parker etc....

Well, having seen Julian Clary dance on the tour earlier this year I would willingly watch him dance the bliddy hornpipe if it meant he was back on SCD, the man was hilarious.

I'd love them to do that! am bored rigid by the same old regurgitation and would love to see a little more fun in the Xmas special.

Or I rather like the idea of a sparkly sequinned sack
