Home Cinema with wireless rear speakers
Could any one reccomend a home cinema system dvd/blu-ray that has wireless rear speakers due to cabling being a problem, not sure if the wrieless is very reliable or not any help or experiences would be most grateful.

If cabling is a problem then how were you planning to power these speakers?
![]() Surely if you can run a mains lead to each speaker it should be possible to run a speaker lead to a pair of "normal" speakers? |

I can't speak for Ashley but presumably it's quite common to have a mains socket on a wall opposite the TV that has a mains socket whereas the speaker leads would have to run across the room - my TV room is like that.
And in how many rooms is it near impossible to run cables round the skirting to the rear speaker location? |

Power sockets aren't a problem its the speaker wires that are an issue, and i was wondering if any one new or had any experience of any wireless kit and how reliable it is and if any systems could be reccomended

A lot of the systems I've seen use the same 2.4GHz band as WiFi and AV senders. OK if you live out in the middle of nowhere but could be a bit of a problem if you and every house nearby has a wireless broadband router going full chat.
To be honest if it were me I would avoid wireless like the plague. If has it's uses but I have to say I don't think going from one fixed point to another fixed point in the same room is one of them. What is it that makes you think wiring is not an option may I ask? |

If the speaker leads have to run across the floor to get to the speakers then surely so would any mains leads?

It's not a matter of near impossible it's a matter of neatness, these cables would also have to pass 2 doors. Yes it can be done but it means speaker cables around all the skirting and architrave.

Is it not possible to thread the cables through the mains trunking?
I know that's not ideal due to inteference, but perhaps using some shielded 2 core cable would work. Something like this? [click] Wireless really does compromise the frequency range speakers operate though. You could neaten it up with something like these wall mounts. [click] |

I've got a Logitech audio system with wireless rears, mains power only.
I've had a fully wired system before- the Logi is not quite (70%?) as good, but the degradation of sound quality is easily mitigated by the convenience of having no wires. My wifi router doesn't seem to make much difference & there are at least 4 other systems I can detect... |
