You may have missed it, do you watch it as it boots up?

When it is going through its boot routine (BOOT on the front panel dsplay), after about 30secs the tuned channel will come up on your TV, then it will display the Scan message (if there's anything to scan). The default, if you do nothing, is very quickly to accept and get on with the scan.

Do you have a Power On time set when you are not present? TBH, I'm not sure if it will do the scan on Auto Power On, or only when manually brought out of Standby, I haven't tried that.

Rgds.

Les,

Yes as it is new and with the problems this week, I watch it boot up, and auto on is not set, everything is default.
I have never seen the Auto Scan message, it goes straight to the tv channel.

Therefore, has the unit been scanning or did I have all the latest channels after the factory reset yesterday after the engineer. If so, then why am I still losing the ITV HDs on boot after being off overnight?
If I turn off for just a couple of minutes then on and boot, the ITV HDs are still in the list.
I will have to check every day over the weekend on boot to see if the ITV HD channels are available.

It is so annoying having bought a brand new unit that these problems exsist. Entering the ITV HD schedules daily are not acceptable, what if you were away on holiday, and recording the SD version defeats the object of me buying this HD unit.

Colin,

Have you got the 2 new channels mentioned today present in your List?

Colin,

You're not going to believe this but there is yet another change today !!!

If your box is on, not in standby, and not recording. Put it in Standby and wait for the Red Light, and clock to go blank if you use Power Saving.

Now bring it back out of Standby and watch the TV screen. Do you get the Scan message?

Rgds.

Les,

Unit has been off for 1½ hours (1pm until now 2.30pm). Just turned on and SEEN the Retune Message for the FIRST Time, and it has Retuned all channels (The default is Yes. Maybe the default should be No until you the user decide). I will reset the ITV HDs yet again.

OK,

Don't understand how it can have been scanning without you seeing the messages the other times

Hope they stick this time through your On/Off boot cycle; if they don't, then I'm stumped.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the next release.

Good luck.

Rgds.

I am new to Freesat+, but experience in Freeview+ PVR and all of their massive problems. I joined the forum in March 2008
