It's an RnB, Hip Hop, Jazz, Gospel music awards.

Give it whatever name you like, but thats what it is. I think the name 'Music of Black Origin' is probably the best possible description there is going to be for what it covers.

Why replace words like wasn't and couldn't and isn't with even longer variations. I don't type in my accent, why do you feel the need to type in yours?

Aslo, why the violence? If you're the ambassador for Glasgow I'd rather not.

Then again, I've also seem Rab C Nesbitt and Trainspotting, so I'd definitely rather not.

How do you define multi cultural?
Is any city in the UK really multi cultural?
Obviously some bits of some cities are very diverse - but generally?
As of the last survey in Glasgow -
94.5% -546,000 out of about 578,000 classed themselves as white.
3.76% -21,000 were Indian/Pakistan and other South Asian.
0.67% - 3,800 classed themselves as Chinese.
1.02% classed themselves as 'other' - 5,900.

That's not really multi cultural or is it?

Trainspotting was set in Edinburgh. While it and Rab C Nesbitt portrayed a facet of life in Edinburgh/Glasgow (somewhat exaggerated for dramatic/comic effect), neither is fully representative of either city by any means. Nor is the poster to whom you were replying.

what spoils the MOBO awards for me are the people (mostly young girls) just there to whoop and cheer for the likes of JLS and N DUBZ. When a nominee was announced whom was not a fan favourite there was a very muted reaction.

It felt more like a threshers ball.

Even the genres it does recognise are like sidesteps to the rest of the show. You don't see many Jazz, Gospel, Blues type performances on this show. It's either that grime type ''wot wot bruv, u pussy u b*tch, suck me off yea yea shout outs innit'' or the odd pop performance that is either mimed or sounds shoddy because the artists are too busy prancing about in stupid costumes.

There has been a bit of hoopla about this in recent years though how they treat most genres as ''derivitive'' whilst focussing their attentions on very pop style music.

I'd change the name of the awards to MOBAO awards, because really it's the Music of Black American Origin that the awards are about (gospel, hip-hop, rap, R&B, urban, soul) .

But yeah no one takes the MOBOS seriously, you should always judge an awards prestige by the stars that turn up to it. None of the A-list US stars can be bothered to attend it anymore.
