Nicole and Matthew were married.

Brendan danced with Camilla in series one, and were in fact engaged. Brendan had an affair with his celeb partner (Natasha Kaplinsky) and Camilla broke off the engagement - she then started to dance with Ian (and professionally still does, I believe), while Brendan danced with Hazel in series two and Karen in series three to five, then... was it Hayley in series six? I genuinely don't remember.

As footygirl says, Matthew and Nicole were married, but no longer are. They still dance together, though, I think.

I agree with that - except for Camilla (who was my favourite pro, so of course I wish she'd stayed).

Camilla, so eloquent on her Norfolk Radio shows, famously said to the effect that in an athletics race the winner is the first one to cross the line.

In dance one couple wins, then the audience argue all night long.

Interestingly, Nicole is joining Brendan on his tour, I think she's even partnering him in the dances.

I heard that they were considering partnering up to compete professionally, after she and Matthew split, but decided against it.

Blimey, in proper dance competitions, they usually argue about it for months afterwards.

Look at the furore and accusations of corruption over that Japanese couple winning the AT salon championships, for example.

She was engaged and eventually broke up with him.She married an different man an few years later.

She still denies the affair, she denied it on friday night with Jonathan Ross last year.

That is interesting as I was hoping Nicole would be one of the special guests on the pro tour Matt is doing - could still be I guess.

Camilla has said in a recent interview that now she doesn't think Brendan and Natasha did have and affair, but the humiliation was just too much for her.

Brendan said he never cheated on Camilla. That does not rule out a complete affair though!

I loved them dancing in series 1 as they were more suited then Camilla is with Ian (IMO).


I miss Camilla more than I miss Arlene! - Camilla has one of the best records on Strictly, 1 final, 3 semis and a quarter in 6 years.

Hazel Newberry - former ballroom world champion - has now come out of retirement and is competing again. She is the British National Champion and regularly places in the World's top 3.

I wonder if it was an emotional affair. Strange that it caused both Brendan and Natasha to split from their partners if nothing happened.



Camilla is a great teacher - she did so well with people like James Martin and Gethin Jones who were not natural dancers at all to start off with.

I loved Camilla and Gethin together. That was when I first started watching strictly.

I think there's often one special partnership that gets a person hooked to strictly. For me, it was Jill and Darren.

Her and Jonathan retired at the beginning of this week/last week.

She retires as one of the ballroom legends.

They have shows booked for the rest of the year but won't compete again. Arunas and Katusha new world champions, sure you have heard Mirko and Alessia have split and Alessia will now dance with her life partner, the guy who Edyta came back with, Angelo . . . ?

Yep, heard about the split. Still think it's a great shame - Alessia and Mirko were so incredible to watch.
