Men & Fashion

General question for everyone - and I have my theories as to the answer...
I like to wear lots of colour, I tend to stand out at work, particularly on a dress down Friday - I tend to go for the geek chic look.
The men I work with (who are pretty much all of the jeans and football t shirt variety) seem to get SO het up about my clothes choice.
God forbid I wear a pink shirt, that brings out all the "gay" remarks (i'm not BTW!)
I dared to wear a white jacket and got asked for ice creams all day!!
Conversely all the women I work with love my dress sense and always compliment me..
Just curious as to peoples thoughts - personally I think its straightforward jealousy that I get compliments from the women and jealousy that they dont have the nerve to wear anything other than jeans and a polo shirt !

Fridays and Saturdays are dress down days where i work. I'm always in a suit though as i'm a manager so often have to meet clients etc so can't really be too casual. Most of the men at my place go jeans and t-shirt as well though many of them wear different colours. I've seen loads of pastel type colours and no one has ever made any jokes about them. Maybe it's just the place where you work?

Jeans and footy shirt - how imaginative. A lot of blokes don't care about their clothes and their partners still buy them for them. You should start paying them compliments. Like nice shirt, did your mother buy it for you? See how like they like. I bet deep down though, some of them really jut envy you.
