Thanks. Of all the things that could irritate me about Strictly, it's the hair-stroking that does it. Robbie Savage could be the first bloke to go for equal-opportunities hair-stroking though.

Flip, it was written before we were exposed to the delights of the Charleston. Edit; and Lindy..

I think some genius peep on the Non App thread did a description but it needs to be searched for and I haven't time right now, but no doubt somebody will find it. Adios!

Don't forget the gurning - that's really essential!

With thanks to Aggs, let's get this out before the season starts so we all know what each dance should look like

Charleston: remove all bones from legs, and aim to dance, lifty lifty, Gurn Gurn. Trouser braces obligatory. God awful shoes.

Assuming that the rumours are true...

Bollywood: Avert eyes. Unless it's Anton.

Bollywood...

Dance steps:

Pivot: very very turny turny step inserted repetitively into a ballroom dance when running out of original choreograpy.

Shimmy: wobbling of shoulders accompanied by mindless grin, inserted repetitively into a latin dance* when running out of original choreograpy. Perfomed in close proximity of judges, preferably shirtless**. (*not applicable to paso, **not applicable to females)

This is the funniest thing I've ever read. Genius. Got to go wipe away the tears and re-read as I'm sure I missed some laughing so much!!!

Spin - you mean the 'pivit' as that seems to be how it gets pronounced on the show!

Yes, you're right Ballroom B. It is the pivit!

I wander in and out frankie, while polishing my Austin Healey Memorial Trophy which gets an outing about this time.

Perhaps Thom will be more Dawson in journey hopefully rather than Logan as in rooted to the spot, and finally obliterate those black memories of 2008. If my memory serves me right, that he nearly died once, that's one storyline sorted. There will be a soft focus vid in week 5 to A Time For Us as he burbles how SCD has given him a chance to embrace life. Though sometimes SCD gives me a chance to wish for death.

Steve Backshall who swims through vats of piranhas and gets injected with lethal rat viruses will not be able to face having a tan and doing a topless Paso in his storyline.

I always think of the Argentine Tango as - Woman tries to keep legs together, man tries to keep woman's legs apart.

It's why I hope that he doesn't get Kristina and be expected to throw her about, after his neck injury ended his career .

Hmm. I nearly died. Bingo entry?

I'm giggling at the thought of Steve trying to keep a straight face during a paso. Stomp, stomp, Ole! No, no, ole not Ola. For goodness sake. *tuts*

For any of you out there who are old enough to remember the New Romantics ...

Basic three moves for dancing:

Tread in glue
Whip the floor
Clean windows

Hello mods sorry for resurrection of this thread but I seem to be obsessed with making sure it has its annual outing just so we all know how each dance is supposed to be done.

Thank you for letting it stay please

Xx

You are very welcome.
The Charleston seems to be

Gurn Gurn
Swivel swivel
Lift lift
Eat 12 packets of Haribo before you go on.
And according to Len above all never set it after 1930 as it will too newfangled and modern
