Anyone toying with the idea of buying one of the above best get to Comet this weekend. Their price of £250 is further reduced by 10% for this weekend only making it a hard-to-beat £225.

I went to Comet with the price of £249.99 in mind and was informed that this weekend only there was 10% off.
So don't mess about looking on the internet--get to the store!

But a previous poster stated that you can't get the 10% discount online.

Its probably too late for the 10% offer anyway.

Wow! £225-00 so you can record ¾ of a HD channel (BBC & ITV between them). If it's SD then freeview recorders can be bought for less than £50-00. If it's HD get a free to view HD satellite receiver with USB record untill these overpriced doorsteps come down.

The cost of moving house into an area served by Freeview would be a little more than that!

Not coming until 2011 here, like much of the country. You think I'm going to watch four 4x3 channels without a PVR for the next two years?! Drove me mad after two months!

Cheers,
David.

Was that directed at me, you didn't quote? By loss-leader I was referring to how Comet can sell at £225, I didn't mean the cashback site.

As for buying one, no thanks, I've hundreds of them
