Hi, just caught up with ITT. At the end Erin said she and Ricky would show us some of their dance but not the beginning. They then went on to do their dance from what looked like the beginning. Either she changed her mind or she has Ricky doing a 'special' start again that they're keeping as a surprise I'm a bit worried
I am not too keen on the shouty starts and Ole s etc , but maybe he is going to be elegant for once !

So you missed Louisa & Vincent? They were great. I also loved Matt Dawson that year (I think it was that year - bad memory again).

I totally agree with you about Karen when she's dancing and I love her on ITT. Funny though, I liked her when she was with Bill Turnbull. She put me off Mark Ramprakash who I actually like. Must be a case of familiarity breeding contempt.
I caught some of Louisa and Vincent's dances too and she was really good as well. Such a shame she was voted out before the final. It was like Gethin being voted out before the final.

Ah, Im on YouTube now. Some on the BBC boards has said that Lisa's ChaCha was the best dance of all time and I rewatched it and then quickly turned over to Alesha's which I luuuurved.

Im going to watch Alesha's tango again now, yay!

I saw nothing on tonight's ITT to threaten Jade and Ian - but then I'm just one voter!

Just hope I'm not a lonely little petunia in an onion patch.

I hate them too. I can't really think of anything quirky that they could do for a VW though. It would ruin the mood. I thought Ricky G's shoulders looked the best ever in that clip tonight. Maybe he'll do a good VW?

You can have a virtual party with eveyone on here.
I had a very personal strictly party last week - me, Thorntons chocs and a bottle of bubbly all to myself. Slept very well afterwards too.

Worst day ever!

No, I know you're not a Ricky Basher but I cant really see the logic of your argument here. (Not saying this to provoke an argument, let me explain). Just because he is a natural and talented dancer does not mean he will still struggle each week and does not mean he shouldnt be allowed to find aspects of his training and his progression throughout the competetion difficult, I dont think it is particularly fair.

I understand what you mean, because it can be irritating for someone who isnt a natural at something to watch another person pick it with with apparent ease. However, the key word there is 'apparent'. Natural talent does not always mean someone will find dancing easy.

For example, I used to be a natural at Tap Dancing when I was younger. I picked it up really easily and was good at it. But there were occasionally different moves that I struggled to pick up, like wings and even pick-up-steps. It used to frustrate me because I was good at it but couldnt seem to get it.

People who are naturally gifted and talented, when they are faced with something they have a difficulty with picking up they will get as frustrated as those who struggle with it normally. Its only human to do so and I dont think it should be something people should find a fault with.
Back again and just caught up with the posts I missed! Just wanted to say I'm not saying he doesn't struggle and that's why I mentioned how hard Natalie's choreography because it couldn't get much harder. That's my point really - it is like Ricky is in the intermediate class on SCD (maybe along with Ali) and his struggle is with harder choreography and faster speeds. We have lost all the duffers now, so what we are then left with is the improving beginners and they are struggling with easier choreography and slower speeds. I'm waffling here, but I just wish he'd acknowledge he is leading the pack. As I said before, I don't remember what he said originally but if he did get slated for saying he liked being the best, etc. (in much more reasonable words of course ), then that may not have been appropriate at the start, but I would have no problem with it now. That's just me of course, as I'm sure that no matter what Ricky did it would be wrong in the eyes of a lot of people on here.

I can honestly say when any couple takes to the floor I hope they do well as I want to be thrilled. So far this series only Ricky's Quick Step has thrilled me. I've loved other performances, but that is the only glitter ball performance so far for me. His Jive looks pretty good to me, so fingers crossed for them.

Hi BuddyBontheNet, apologies if I upset/offended you as I do think you are one of the more objective posters on here when it comes to Mr Whittle (and the programme in general). It's just that at the beginning when he was saying that he liked it at the top of the leader board and wanted to stay there people on here were criticising him for it.
Not at all Laura - we're fine (as always ). My memory is terrible at the moment(too much on my mind)!

I'm fairly confident that you won't be (even though I can't vote myself).

maybe he doesn't think of himself that way and still feels that he's struggling and I know damn well that if he came out and said anything like "I'm the leader of the pack" this board would errupt in flames

Why are you worried? Not fond of 'special' starts?
Not when they involve Ricky Groves!

Exactly, I think a lot of us would never be allowed to show our faces on here again if that happened!

Perhaps that's what the 'We're all fighting against Ricky Whittle' VT was about on ITT. Perhaps they were trying to provoke that reaction? But he just was really gracious about it, because despite what a lot of people may think, he is a decent guy who is humble and not arrogant.

I wonder if that's what some people's problem is with him, because he isnt arrogant enough for them. Some people probably saw him and immediately took against him because they imagined he would be really up himself. And then he turned out to be a good dancer but earnest and hard working and down to earth and they dont like him for that?

Just a few of my theories on the 'I hate Ricky Whittle for really vague and silly reasons' hoo-haa. I may be wrong but, I like to speculate.

I don't vote for him but I don't mind him, I just wish he'd stay away from the jam spreading and combs, he's forcing the cheeky chappie/cockney lad thing a bit now, he needs to let his dancing do the talking

That's what puts me off him. He does need to do a good dance tomorrow night.

Im always on Youtube looking at past dances - Alesha, Gethin, Tom and Rachel are the main candidates I watch.
It is addictive!

I didnt watch his year so I have watched a few of his dances but he just does nothing for me. And (Im aware Im at risk of getting shouted at here) I cannot, CANNOT stand Karen Hardy when she dances. The inane grin and the frigging finger pointing she always does drives me up a tree! But I do like her on ITT and choreography corner and I think she should replace Alesha as a judge.
I've got a feeling we are poles apart about what we like on SCD as Karen is my favourite female pro and Ramps my favourite male celeb!

I saw nothing on tonight's ITT to threaten Jade and Ian - but then I'm just one voter!

Just hope I'm not a lonely little petunia in an onion patch.

That is the most pathetic post I have seen from you - ever!

Don't worry Petunia, I'll be voting for them too and Team Cola of course!

I want to have a Strictly party but I don't know who I'd invite because no one I know watches

We had a virtual SCD Blackpool party on here last week! Fab fun, so join in with our next one - just watch out for the thread!

If you read the posts between drbol and me you'd see I'm not looking for a argument, just saying what I'd like to heard him say and I've already said twice I'm not expecting him to brag and that no matter what he said he would get slated. I give up.

Another good show. I am glad Natalie has slowed the jive down for Ricky. I find their dances manic so hopefully this will just be a normal speed jive so we can see what they are doing and he won't fall over his feet. Though I could have done without the chest being on show . Put it away Ricky.

I think Ali's cha cha looks fab and their music is great. I've been singing it all night.

Chris looked good too though their music choice is awful. If he can look fierce (not in an Alesha way) and refrain from shouting during his dance it might be ok though.

I'm still excited about Jade and Ian. Could be a classic in the making!

You'd be suprised, I bet we'd agree on more things than you'd expect.

I know I never said that post but I really dont think welwyn meant it in an inflammatory way. (trying to be the peacemaker here) Im glad we've had a reasoned discussion about it BuddyBoy.

In fact, I'd like to thank all the posters on this thread tonight, its the first time Ive enjoyed it on here in a long time!

I think it could work, its got the right 'one, two, three-and-four' ChaCha beat to it. Plus its quite a party song.

And let's face it, anything is better than blummin Wino and 'Tears Dry On Their Own' = the worst song for a cha cha ever.

The best thing about virtual parties is you can drink as much as you like and not get drunk and eat as much as you like without putting on weight!

PS I forgot to say I also think Claudia does look like she is pregnant - the Paso master class gives it away big time!

Thing is I love that song and thus liked the dance (see I haven't a clue about dancing really ), although people in the know did say last year that it wasn't suitable.

That's why I was asking about the Black Eyed Peas song for tomorrow night.

Is he leading the pack ?

Who has been top of the leaderboard the most and who has the highest average score so far?

I think it is. I have been cha charing to it round my kitchen. It's one of those songs that make me want to dance!
