Firstly a word of thanks to all who post the great info in the other threads.

Im having difficulties reading some of them without seeing spoilers as I'm following this on Watch in the UK so thought I could start a thread that only discusses things that have happened/been shown on Watch

From Monday nights show (the 1st show)

How painful was it to see Tom DeLay, I enjoy a laugh as much as the next guy but that made me cringe.

Tom DeLay wasn't as bad as Macy Gray (hey that rhymes!)

Still, I think the girls had the edge over the gents in week one.

I just want to check before I post something I shouldn't - have you all seen the results show on Watch that was on on Friday? My Sky series link didn't pick up on the Friday shows, linked it to the Monday ones, and I just happened to of seen the Friday ones advertised during an ad break of another show.

Mine did the same Babinaba - fortunately I remember it being advertised as Monday and Friday so I found it and series linked it - very strange indeed!

Anyone watching tonight? OMG @ Aaron Carter's quickstep. That was the weirdest and yet most awesome costume/music combo EVER. I loved it.

Not sure about his suit (although I know why it was as it was) - loved Karina's dress though. Loved the dance too.

I hated the suit when he came out - but with the music and the dance it made perfect sense.

I love the snowboarding dude.

Thought it was a really good set of shows this week and surprised to find I'm enjoying Donny Osmonds performances so much, he comes across as a really good sport.

Starting to think its been setup to have a male winner this year as the girls all seem a bit weaker, then again was shocked Giles lost it last season.

Dunno about that.

So far Mya and Natalie have been the stand outs to me.

I'd agree that Mya and Natalie stand out, although I do worry that Natalie and Alec as a couple are so quiet that they will fade into the background, which is unlikely with Mya and Dmitry.

Overall, after this week, I think it is quite well balanced between men and women - there are 3 male contenders who should go a long way, Louie, Donny and Aaron; and Mya and Natalie from the women. You can then pick one from Joanna, Melissa Joan and Kelly as the other, depending on who has the most support. I think Kelly and Melissa Joan are suffering from nerves before they perform, but are both coming across well, and have popular pro partners. Joanna is probably most at risk of the three, as I'm not sure how much general support she would have.

Also, given that we lost two people this week, I guess the planned 'double elimination' mid-season won't happen?

Did anyone see "Bruce Goes Dancing" (apologies if that isn't exact title) tonight? Mya was featured as a singer, but seeing the way she moved, I'm not surprised she dances so well in dwts!!! She's very good.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the Rumba and the Bolero? Natalie and Alec looked like they did the same dance tonight (Bolero) that they did last week (Rumba).

I didn't see last weeks, so assumed that the Bolero was the US name for the Rumba

There's very little difference, but the bolero is slower. The basic steps and figures are the same.

A good show this week with probably the correct result but was surprised by how much "Sabrina"/Melissa improved, was pleased to see her relax a bit but I'm not sure if she can carry on improving.

I know Aaron was not at his best but I actually felt sorry for him after the judges comments but was surprised he was in the bottom two so it seems he doesn't have the public backing.

I thought the Bolero's were dull and too similar to the Rhumba and will be glad to see no more of it.

At the moment I feel its going to be Maya to win with Mark or Donny coming second cant see Natalie or Joanna lasting the course.

I'm enjoying this more than SCD - It seems more professional and as always the camera work is so much better than the uk show.

I didn't agree with Melissa and Mark being top, I thought Donny and Kym's Charleston was far more entertaining, and didn't need the benefit of film effects at the start to set the scene.

I thought the judges were harsh on Natalie and Alec and Mya and Dmitry, but I did agree with the comments about Aaron, he does look like he's trying to hard, and it really shows in the dance. I also thought Len's point about spending more time on the dance and less on the gymnastics was a good one.

I was really surprised by Louie, he did nothing in that dance, and in turn, I was quite impressed by both Chuck and Anna and Lacey and Mark - Chuck's dance was fun, but Mark's was really good for a two step.

It was quite interesting for a week, and I do like the idea of putting the pros outside their comfort zone as well, but I think they need to choose the dances better next year, as the bolero is just too similar to rumba, especially coming a week after.

I actually thought that Melissa and Mark did deserve to be top this week. I thought she did a fantastic job with the Charleston. Her facial expression really came through in both the acting and dancing of the dance and I also liked the film effects at the start. They did a similar thing last season when the top 7 did a 60's themed group dance and the effect was great. The only thing I suppose I didn't like about it was that most of the professionals and celebrities were wearing wigs and/or hats so I couldn't tell who was who but apart from that it was great. But as the effect goes, I think it actually works really well

It was ok for the group dance, I'm just not convinced that any one couple should get that much extra help in setting the atmosphere for their dance.

Although I may not be the most impartial person on this - I think Mark should have been shot for that stupid moustache!

Do you mean the atmospheric lighting? It was very effective, but I wonder if this was only seen on television, and not in the studio - and therefore not by the judges?

The moustache did look mad, didn't it? But fun - and possibly far less stupid than Louis v A's make up!

I loved M & M's charleston, and thought they really deserved their top placing.

I thought Aaron & Louie would be in bottom 2, with Louie going - he did nothing.

Feel Aaron would benefit from being taken to a good standard ballroom dance studio to watch how couples dance. Sometimes just being told what to do isn't enough, it's necessary to actually see dances performed and to get the feel for them.

I'm with you there. That looked terrible and his joke about it post dance was even worse. Even if he would have been able to grow that himself, he wouldn't have left it that way surely. I'd love to know where the make-up/dress team even got that from

I like Louie but I think the fact that he's never seen a single episode of DWTS might work against him the longer he stays in the competition. I think his partnership with Chelsie really works though so it'd be a shame for him to throw that away by not playing his part in it

He held her hand and walked around - he would have been crucified for that on SCD (and rightly so).

SCD vs DWTS I would always choose SCD, mainly because DWTS always starts the training VT with a totally contrived speech from pro to celeb about what's ahead. I do really like the more positive aspect of getting the favourite dance shown again though - if we're going to sit through a dance off, at least let us see a good dance again beforehand!

I thought Melissa's Charleston wasn't *that* good - enjoyable, fun and full of energy, but she wasn't always quite on top of it, and it was a bit of a gurnfest.
