Do you rate mac makeup?

Do you think it's expensive for what it is when there are highstreet brands that are cheaper and possibly better?

I love Mac make up. I don't have a lot of it as it's pricey but managed to stock up last year in USA when the exchange rate was so good

Love M.A.C, especially for their eyeshadows and lipsticks. Most high street stuff isn't pigmented enough for my skin tone, apart from Barry M and Sleek.

I mostly buy MAC eyeshadow and lipstick but I do also have some blusher and face powder. I also use a set of MAC brushes

I don't rate MAC so much for foundation really but I rate them highly for eye makeup and lipstick. In my experience of MAC I've found that you can get like odd things from there and they will be AMAZING, but then you will get essentials that everyone buys like foundation and it isn't all that good.

I love their eye makeup though, so much!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid is the best coverage foundation I have ever used. But like SO many other people have complained, it breaks me out terribly. And I'm not even prone to spots. It's a shame because it looks flawless when I'm wearing it, its when it comes off thats the problem

I will literally have a spot or two by the end of the same day of wearing it. So MAC products ARE worth the money so long as it agrees with your skin. Which isn't the case for a great deal of people.

I have only used their eyeshadows. The colours are pretty and there is a wide range to choose from but I think Urban Decay are better as their eyeshadows tend to last longer on me.

I love their make up, especially their blusher, it's the best blusher I've ever used
I love their foundation, but it is quite heavy, so I wouldn't recommend it for day to day use, but for nights out and stuff like that, defo!!!
in terms of price, it's not *that* expensive, their foundations, IIRC are about £19, which makes it cheaper than dior, benefit, lancome etc...

I love MAC. Their mascaras aren't up to much, but their eyeliners and eyeshadows are fantastic- they have lots of colours to choose from and it stays on for absolutely ages and still looks great. I use the Studio Tech foundation and I love it, it lasts me ages because I don't have to use a lot yet I still get great coverage and my skin looks great, but I know other people that find it too heavy/makes them break out. I've heard Studio Fix (the powder) is good too.

I definitely think the foundations and eyeshadows are worth every single penny.

Dont rate the foundation on its own but use that face and body foundation as a nice glowy base and over neck, it doesnt cover my usually blotchy combination skin. i use double wear in problem redish zones but dont like it everywhere incase seem caked. Anyone else use 2 foundations? Never found just one i like. Tell you what though...ive tried a few concealers but ALWAYS return to my trusty 2.75 odd rimel clear complexion stick

Mac is great for eyeshadow as people said only one ive tried that doesnt make my eyes look dirty.

I really hate how the ladies in those shops always try to give you pinky tone foundation which brings out the red look instead of the match for your neck colour to match the neck

Can't rate their Studiofix powder foundation (bring back six containers and get a free lipstick-winner!) and pigment eyeshadows highly enough. Love them.

I have tried every foundation known to man but have never ever bought a second bottle of any of them apart from mac. It is the best imo.

A friend spent £800 on MAC and used her yellow eyeshadow all over face to look like Pudsey ouch.

I like their eyeshadows

Has anybody tried their Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolour? I've been using Virgin Vie Lip Blush because straight lipstick dries my lips and makes them crack, but they seem to have stopped doing them.

MAC do a great line in make up - I don't wear foundation anymore but when I did Studio Fix was great.
For cheaper alternatives you should check out Urban Decay and Barry M (which is cheaper again).

You should mix and match these brands, use say the MAC foundation, face primer or concealer and then the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer which is a god send and choose the colours you like from any of the above for eyeshadows and say get the lip glosses etc from Barry M.

I have only used MAC eyeshadows, and they're nice colours, their longetivity is not as good as Urban Decay ino, which is my favourite brnd for eyeshadows.

I mainly wear MAC and Benefit products and if I need to buy high street, then it's always Bourjois.

My favourite foundation is MAC's Face and Body - you can build it up as much as you like, or keep it light. their tinted moisturiser is also one of the best I've used, it's perfect for Summer. I only ever use their blusher and their brushes are fantastic.

I love Mac's eyeshadows. I have their Smoke and Mirrors quad for xmas and love it. Not so keen on their liquid eyeliners. I also love Urban Decay, their eyeliners are fab, and Too Faced are great too!

ive used their Studiofix powder foundation for as long as i can remember, think its about £19, i like it, as its easy to apply and not messy, but it does tend to make me break out a bit.

thats really the only thing i regularly buy. ive bought some eye shadows and lipsticks too in the past ive liked. only thing i havent liked that ive tried is their primer, i asked for samples a couple of times, but dont really find that it does anything, so wouldnt shell out for that.

I adore MAC makeup, it's brilliant. Ok so it's a little expensive but in all honesty I would rather pay a lot for makeup that will last be a whole year than some cheap makeup that won't.

The studio fix is very good, although admittedly I have moved away to Bare Essentials which gives me a completely natural and flawless finish.

I do like some of their eyeshadows, but I tried bobbi browns eyeshadows for the 1st time recently and prefer them much more, they're much more pigmented.
I do use Mac's concealers and mineralize natural skin finish a lot though, so I'd recommend them.
The plushlash mascara is pretty good too, it reminds me of Dior's Diorshow mascara.
Umm their lipsticks come in great colours, but can be drying so I usually go for the amplified or cremesheen textures.
Their lipglosses are also a bit sticky, but come in great colours, plushglass isn't sticky though and it makes your lips look fuller, so they're good
Oooh almost forgot my fave Mac makeup and that is their blushers I'd definitely go for one, I have my eye on pink swoon at the moment.
Hope that helps

MAC is my favourite make up brand. The best items are:

Studio Fix Fluid - gives great coverage.
Powerpoint eyeliners - these are amazing. I've tried loads of cheap to expensive eyeliners and these are the only ones that stay on most of the day. Any leakage is minor. Also the pencil sharpeners are excellent.
Eyeshadows - really well pigmented and a good range of colours.

I haven't tried their mascara, but I hear that it's not so great, and I think it's perfectly possible to get great cheap mascaras anyway.

I also use their lip conditioner from time to time, it's good if used sparingly.

I used to have a MAC powder but I dropped it on the floor and smashed it so wouldn't bother with expensive powders anymore TBH.

The only product I have that I wasn't so impressed with was their Prep N'Prime Eye cream. The Urban Decay one is a million times better.
