I know it's sounds silly but, for some reason I thought he was gay, so when all these rumours were flying around I thought it was publicity for the show.

If it is true that they're an item well good luck to them but, at the moment I must say I'm a little sceptical.

My thoughts exactly - I had assumed without realising it I guess, that Brian was gay!

I don't see the attraction either, he looks to me like a toddler who needs a decent hair cut! He never struck me as remotely attractive or sexy, but I have no problem at all with 'a relationship' if that's what it is.

The BBC probably want Brian to stay in the show for longer than he has before, so they gave him a decent partner to work with and maybe now they're 'encouraging' speculation about a romance.

I don't really care either way, I never particularly look forward to seeing Brian dancing or talking, but he seems to be doing a great job with Ali so good luck to them.

Seems genuine to me. Ali is too shy a person to work with the BBC to create a fake romance. You only have to see footage of them in rehearsals to realise they are falling for each other.

They're both sickly sweet, a match made in candycane heaven.

It's just irrelevant and not remotely interesting. Two single, attractive people flirting? Oh my God, hold the front page!

I do find it quite amusing the way the papers (or the show's PR people) are trying to generate interest in the couples. I saw a picture of Natalie and Vincent in a car park yesterday, she looked fed up so the story was asking whether they had fallen out? Photos like that are a split second in time and tell you nothing! It's boring. I'm t here to watch the dancing, not the romances, real or staged!

Brian and Ali? Don't care, it's their business, they're both young and single as far as I know.

Totally agree with you there They seem really sweet together & i really think its genuine & not just for publicity.

And as for Brian being gay, i knew he wasn't because i remember last year on ITT they did a bit about Brain wanting to find a nice British girl & how he wanted to be their american boy lol bless him, he seems a lovely guy.. Good luck to them.

Just because he says it, doesn't mean it's true. I have no proof either way and as I said before, your private life is your private life.

But he comes from a far more homophobic country than ours where your livelihood is affected by your sexuality unfortunately and so if indeed he is gay , he may think that he has to hide it. Or put more clearly, gay Americans, in general, hide their sexuality far more readily than the British do.

Just look at American Idol this year, the favourite lost in the final because he was gay, or in the opinion of many people that was the reason he lost.

This is the first time on SCD that I actually feel a pro and a celeb could be becoming a couple in real life and I think they look great together. They make me smile.

PS Brian is not gay.

Flavia and Matt D'Angelo?

Me too. I feel that they are both too cute and sincere to ever participate in a showmance.

With Matt Di and Flavia I knew he was smitten, but I felt Flavia just managed to hold it together until after the series finished. I wasn't surprised at what happened next, but it wasn't a dead cert for me. At that time I could still see the possibility of Flavia walking away and continuing with Vincent.

Well i of course loved Matt & Flavia together lol hence the name... But it was about mid series when rumours about them two started. I have never seen a couple so close, so early in the series I think its really sweet & like i said they do seem genuine... Look at last night when both Len & Tess made comments, the way Ali blushed was so sweet lol

Just re-watched the show again and I'm really going to put the cat amongst the pigeons!

I noticed that when Ricky was being interviewed by Tess, Ali was desperate to make eye contact with him. It could that her head (for publicity) says Brian but, her heart says Ricky. It could also mean that they are very good friends and she was pleased for him. But, hey ho it's an opinion based on what we saw last night and what we've read in the papers, which is what most of us are basing our judgements on.

I dont see any obvious 'chemistry' between any of the reported romances this year.
It was quite clear in Matt and Flavias training room footage that there was a big attraction between them, but so far the only things I've seen linking any of the couples this year have been pictures of them strolling in the street holding hands/kissing for phototgraphers which we never saw from Matt and Flavia at all, and still dont.
To me it just seems a bit too clinical and open to the public to make me think theres anything genuine going on.
Of course I could very well be wrong in what I think and see, and I suppose that like Matt and Flavia, time will tell how 'real' these romances are.

I think Ali and Ricky are friends from when they were on Hollyoaks. Didn't she say something about Ricky at the end of her training VT? I think there may be so friendly rivalry going on between Ali and Ricky.

Aye she did and in truth I think it was more to do with friendly rivalry . I'm more in agreement with Dilly 1 it's just so convenient that they have a "love interest". I know it's going back a while but, can anyone remember when the Brendan and Natasha story broke? I really can't remember it becoming public knowledge this early in the series.

I see more chemistry between Ali and Brian at this point than I did from Matt and Flavia at the same point in 2007. Obviously, their chemistry and attraction to each other became more obvious as the series grew, but I recall that Flavia seemed a little irritated with him to begin with.

Yeah, I think Ali & Brian are very sweet and cutesy together but I kind of needed the pictures in the newspapers to see that ...whereas I didnt need to see pictures of Matt and Flavia holding hands and kissing to know that they were falling for each other.
Their chemistry in the training room was enough for me personally to see that they had more on their minds than just dancing.

Ali and Brian seem perfect for each other. The footage in last friday's Take Two show spoke volumes. You could easily see the chemistry in the rehearsal footage. They cant stop touching each other and I dont mean during dancing.

I don't think she was trying to make eye contact with Ricky, just that Tess was standing right in front of her, and she just wanted to have a better look of the couple coming in.
