The RedOne track sounds like a GaGa tune

I was honestly expecting this to be an album of mostly Leona-style ballads, so I am pleasantly surprised*. I'm actually interested to hear some of these songs in full. I'm really glad I've been proven wrong with Alex.

(There's nothing wrong with Leona ballads when it's Leona singing them. I thought Alex would be a Leona clone, and that would be bad! )

I find most Redone songs sound like Gaga songs. I could easily imagine Gaga singing Remedy and Here we go again.

I dont think all of redones songs sound the same.

I mean the stuff he did for the sugababes is different to the stuff he did for Lady Gaga and broken heels and dumb sounds different again.

Not impressed, personally. Good luck to her though.

im not impressed in the slightest, it all sounds very disposeable, but she will do extremely well off the back of x factor.

What ^^ said! All very forgettable and disposable but give her a chance as it is only album #1 off the back of X-Factor. I'll give her a couple of years to break away from the X-Factor cheesyness and see if she makes anything worth listening to. It should be made a crime to buy sh*t like that lol!

It's decent for an Xfactor record, i reckon. It got a good write up in the sun but some will say that don't mean much.

I am watching her interview on the music page and one thing I really liked her for was that refused to sing songs about stuff she aint been through. She kept diary of her feelings and show the producers it and they wrote the songs.

As much as i love britney, one of her biggest faults is that she sings a lot of songs that she has unlikely been through. The only songs that are truly real britney are Lucky, I'm not a girl not yet a woman and Everytime. As an artist, i would make damn sure I wouldn't put out a record like 3 which is basically about a threesome.

I suppose it depends on who wrote it. They do have a weekly music review (on a saturday I think) and a lot of what it says is quite decent but every day or so you have that muppet from Showbiz who wouldn't know talent if it smacked him in the gob ravin' on about how fantastic Mariah Carey's cover of I Wanna Know What Love Is or saying how brilliant Leon Jackson is.

If it was that vacuous Jock who wrote it, then the review isn't worth the paper it was written on. imo

His names Gordon, not 'Jock'.

And actually, he trashed Mariah's latest album, calling it dire.
He called her cover of 'I Want To Know What Love Is 'competent at best'. And that's the kindest thing he had to say about any of it.

It was the guy who does the showbiz page on a Sunday who raved about how brilliant that song was and the album, and when Gordon isn't obsessing and stalking that Agyness bird, he raves about music that really doesn't deserve to be raved about.

P.S. I don't actually care what his name is!

Fair enough. But that's no excuse for insulting the Scottish.

Jock is not an insult to the Scottish. It wasn't said with hate. It is just a bit politically incorrect-which I applaud!

The point was that he gives good reviews to s**tey music. The tragic thing here is that you know his name. I can't believe anybody is taking anything printed in the sun seriously.

Sorry, but the term 'vacous Jock' is quite insulting, and certainly wasn't said with affection. We'll have to disagree on this, but speaking as a Scot I do not like to be addressed as a 'Jock'. Each to their own I suppose, but that's not really what this thread is about, so moving on...

I like Gordon Smart. He does not always give good reviews to bad music. Like I said, he gave Mariah's album a terrible review. And he is normally quite harsh on reality tv stars, so good for Alex that she has managed to win him over.

Wow. This song is awesome!

But the demo singer sounds a bit like Cheryl Cole.
