I always thought it was pronounced that way with an eye lol.

I'm wondering if Natalie will be wearing a similar outfit on Saturday to try and grab a couple of votes. I'm not going to show it to my husband in case he gets his hopes up ”

Well I do like the outfit...

Natalie clearly didn't have a clue about the dance there - it shows a typical demonstration of how someone can be a highly trained dancer, do all the moves, and yet entirely miss the point of the dance. Basically, a female Brendan.

For example, the straight boleo at 2:48 is simply her throwing her leg back - there's no momentum driving a natural free leg movement there. Her gancho at 2:50 is poorly-executed - his one looks better in fact. You could drive a bus between the two of them most of the time. Her forward walks are awful, she lifts her legs far too high in the boleos. And that's just the first 30 seconds of the routine...

I hope she's learnt a lot in the past year, because frankly there's very little technique on her part there - although her partner showed some promise, he had a few nice enrosques and if his walk was continuous, it'd be OK I think.

Mind you, I have to say that this does really make me want her and Ricky to get to the final. If she can add puppetry to an AT I reckon we'd be in for a legendary showdance ”

Err... You know what, I quite liked that routine... but that was a year earlier than the other one... I'm confused now...

I suppose a lot will depend on who is coreographing (sp?) the routine she may not have had the same person each year which would definitely make a difference.

I don't really like to comment on the quality of the dances as I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I was totally at the puppet strings just seemed a bit inappropriate for the AT, more like the start of a charleston type dance.

It also immediately made me think of Erin & Colin's showdance

From the brief VT we saw on ITT tonight, she's put some of the same choreography in...(not the puppetry)

Possibly - may also reflect the levels of her partners.

I think the contrast was what made it for me - the way they snapped from a loose floppy goofy style, straight into a controlled, disciplined, AT. For some reason, it just worked.

And I'm normally the first one to decry gimmicks too... Maybe I'm getting soft.

Regular lurker but just had to post - WTF is she (just about) wearing?

If she tries this on SCD then she needs a lesson from Ola in how to make semi-nudity sexy not slutty.

It's the first time I have heard Vinthenth say anything more very simple phrases relating to his imagined prowess, and the conclusion I came to is that he talks a load of manure.

Had no idea he was that stupid. Why am I not surprised?

Unappreciating the fact that whilst reading something I managed to forget how many steps are on our stairs and fell down the last few. Can I have a bye for my ankle? I also need to borrow someone's Uggs - I don't have a pair and how else am I meant to apply some ice?

No you're not the only one, although Fray Bentos is actually in Uruguay

Ouch, you have my sympathy but you can't have my Uggs.

(I don't actually have any I'm not just being mean)

I fell down the stairs last week, hurt my wrist rather than my ankle (and my pride as it was in front of a colleague!), but if things come in threes hopefully that will be it for FM stair falling incidents.

1000th post! Wow!

Well, there seems to be hardly any other threads interested in discussing the darcning darling...most fms just wanting to whinge. I hope they'll have worn themselves out with repetition by Saturday but if Cola get through (I said if) they'll start up AGAIN.

Mark and Karen's still the benchmark. It was one of those iconic moments in TV, not just SCD, that you remember forever. I certainly have. How CRH couldn't give it a 10 when he's given some completely undeserved 10s since is loopy.

The only other one to really impress me was Rachbot's. The chemistry wasn't the same for me but the technique was magnifico.

Yeah, I agree with you. Peversely, I wish Mark had not been dancing with Karen and I'd love to have seen Rachel dance with anyone other than Vinthent, but both celebs did so beautifully in those dances. They were both wonderful.

They darn tooting were. I just hope all 3 celebs can do themselves and the AT justice on Sat.

Doesn't it come to something when you have to come into the non app thread to post something appreciative.

I need to non-appreciate the fact that we are moving house next Thursday and probably won't have our broadband up and running in time for the final

I think it was a dance "of the moment", you know? If you analyse it, or look at it out of context, it's nothing much. But at the time, it just blew everyone away, it demonstrated the passion and intensity of the dance. Before that no-one knew about it. After, we all did.

Yes. It was showcase-level stuff. In some ways, it was better than V&F's performance last week I think.

My thing with Ramps' Argentine and why it will forever be 2nd to the Rachbot's for me is that I really enjoyed it, but I couldn't help looking at it and thinking "... he's not really doing an awful lot is he?"

Funny that. When I looked at again I thought less of it too. I think I was just drooling over him. Rachel's actually was the only one that ever came close to the real thing.

I'm afraid from what I've seen of the training room AT vids none of this year's crop are anything special - much to my disappointment. Natalie just doesn't get it at all. Her body positions are all wrong...what do you think DJ? She was my best hope.
