That's why we're not popular (smacks herself on the forehead and shouts ow), it's the Alesha cackle!

And for the third page in a row, I've got the first post, so I'm off to bed, especially as probably more than 50% of the posts in this thread are mine!

I am so behind EVERYTHING - went out and had to watch the mammoth show when I got back.

Not appreciating Laila's attitude - she's cocky with Anton and seems to blame him, yet she's happy to be 'good'. Dunno, early days.

Not appreciating Natalie Lowe, orange dress - and gurning and what do I think of - attention - all the time, wears me out looking at her.

NOT getting the Ricky Whittle effect. I KNOW he's good. I am just totally unmoved by their performances.

Not appreciating being so 'out of the loop' tonight.

And Joe staying out of the dance off - though I'm sort of pleased Jo stayed.

Bruce getting at James about his choice of paso music - fair enough, he may not like it, it may not be traditional, but when even the presenters are criticising the dancers, does it not remove the impartiality thing? And I think he then brought it up again when someone was more trad. Irritating. Plus, if I shout any louder "Yes, doddery you ARE!" at the tv, I think I may become an official nuisance neighbour. But he is so doddery. Every time he comes down the stairs and twitches across the stage at the beginning I am waiting for the crack of his hips breaking.
Erm..... hope that wasn't too vitriolic. But the man bugs me. Fine, he may have once been a "legend" (?for presenting some naff games shows? seriously? legend status?) but he now makes uncomfortable viewing. Also, if he says he will not make terrible jokes in between dances and gets our hopes up, then goes ahead and makes terrible jokes anyway, that must be in some way in breach of our inalienable rights?”

When he was going on about the length of the show (and yes I do mean going on) I was screaming at the TV yes it would half the time, if you did not keep repeating every flippin line

Just insulted someone in an obscure foreign language; I think it's the way to go.

Much, well, little actually, has been made of the elitist witty Non-App's having in jokes and descending into various unsavoury verbal antics such as going off topic... and not being able to understand what's going on in here. Well, take the time to go back and read the posts and get the joke! I personally will never forget the "cover me, I'm going in", balaclava and misreading the Mission Impossible/Magnificent Seven theme tune of last year. And for the lurkers who then post on other threads about this one's sad decline, MRSA is one half of Team Cola ”

Are they 'In jokes' or just 'running jokes'? To me there's a difference. In jokes are private things that exclude everyone else; we don't exclude anyone, everyone is welcome to pull up a chair and get stuck in.

I was using the original phraseology (sp), and you're quite right, they're running jokes that when understood are hilarious but also take the sting out of a particular post that might seem to be randomly bitchy or nasty and cause offence, hence my unappreciation for the sentiments.

I wasn't for one single minute being critical of your post, but was trying to put a different slant on the views of those who call us elitist or an in crowd. One man's meat is another man's murdered chicken and all that.

I've just peeped into the Alesha grammar thread - blimey, it's mean in there! Apparently it is snobbish to want people to speak correctly.

Mere words cannot express how much I didn't appreciate Joe's paso outfit. I know he's a freaking boxer, I know how good he was, I know how many belts he won, please don't ram it down my throat in an attempt to make me vote for him and ignore his rubbish attempts at dancing, if it was a BB style 'vote to evict' vote last night I'd have bankrupted myself voting him out on the basis of his outfit alone, never mind the horrible dancing - hours later and I'm still narked off by it

Honourable mention to the CALLZAGGY on the packaging.

It's always nice when you know what's in the box.

I'm wondering if a letter was omitted, and it should have read "beautiful pasta".

Got to keep the carbs up...

Gordon Bennett!
I went to bed early, then find this morning that you lot have all moved house and didn't leave a forwarding address.
I was hanging round the old thread wondering where you all were (or was, since good grammar is now optional)

Loved the fact that Thong said his paso was going to be ultra masculine, and he wasn't going to wear pink.
Then he comes out wearing what looks like a lace-up basque and what can only be described as a Big Girl's Blouse.

Seriously non-appreciate the KALLSAGGY playing the "I'm a crap dancer, but in case you have forgotten, I was an ace boxer" card.

I go away for 36 hours and find out a)we've been spliced again and b) Anton's a racist

Just watched last nights show and began to lose the will to live about 25 mins in so hit the fast forward button during the boring bits, Alesha's comments, Tess & Brucie's bits etc., etc., I do have one or two questions though:

1) Why was Butch sporting a widow's peak, she reminded me of one of those dancers from Victor/Victoria, you know from the back they're woman and from the front men. She reminded me of the male half.

2) Did Jordan supply most of the fabric for last night's frocks? Bubble gum pink is not a good look for anyone over, well anyone really.

3) Calzaggy's costume was tacky even by SCD wardrobe department standards.

4) It was the first time I noticed, and I'll be the first to say I don't always pay attention but did you know Craig's recently married?

Heavens you guys leave a mess when you move house, spent hours clearing out the empties, ice cream cartons and sweet wrappers.

Getting a little annoyed by the patronising new judge with her street talk, she's 31 for crying out loud.

I'm with Alli-F, can't seem to get excited about this series.

Big furore about Anton and his big mouth, grew up with a dad who thought he was funny and witty, when it was clear to everyone and the cat that he wasn't, so I've been there, been embarrassed and got the t-shirt.

I'd forgotten about that.”

I had the audacity not to fall on my knees and adore Cherie L on the BBC site last year .
I was branded a troll and a terible person and spoken about as if I had murdered her only child
And all this from grown adults who idolised a woman who was on a dance show .
Its scared the living daylights out of me as I never knew adults could have serious crushes .

We've moved!

How long til we catch up with the Pointlessly beautiful thread? This is my lifetimes ambition -seriously.

Im sure someone is going to throw a cod or something at me but I felt really sorry for Rav last night -they should have just chucked out Aliona and gave him Lilia.

I non-appreciate the way that my initial thoughts pre-show have been turned upside down... don't like being proved wrong.

Before:
Was ready to support Joe C, and Lynda as the older woman with great legs.
Thought Thonia would be a dead weight.
Had Ali and Ricky W down for Botdom
Ready to dislike Ricky Groves and Tuffers for cheeky chappie/ can't be arsed schitck.

Now:
KALLSAGGY has made JS look like Nureyev.
Lynda B let me down with doing facial impressions of Hattie Jacques thoughtout the Dance0ff.
Thonia still annoys but is not making a bad job of it.

Ali has been re-progammed and the drippy wet chip has been removed.
Ricky Whittle is still a bit dull, but as long as he can dance like that, I'll forgive him.

Tuffers was ok in Ballroom even tho his Latin sucked.

And I loved Groves' Paso!

I'm soooo confused!

The die-hard SCD addicts (on all SCD forums) scare me witless. Theirs is such a narrow world. They own the BBC too you know. And they own the pro dancers, and they are the only ones who can really critique dance routines, know what is going on inside the head of each competitor. They also have severe addiction to the adjective 'harsh'.

another SCD hangover so my non appreciating may need to be brief

the wardrobe - why why WHY must be do the boxing punchy thing everysingle effing time we see him, it's beyond annoying now. he's crap and it's not entertaining crap and he has no personality to vote through gaaaah

I thought Len and Tess's comment to Brian and Ali were cringey and embarassing - which would ahve been fine if they had been made to the other strictly shaggers the wardrobe and the vamp but no - not even a mention of that showmance

The rickbot, great dancer but so dull. and don't even get me started on muriel - though I see from her costume alst night that wardrove dislike her as much as we do

ravoli - did she have some kind of secret instruction " do the quickstep and btw can you make your partner look like a big lumbering berk as much as poss please?" I notice he wasn't keen to have even a few seconds alone with her on the dance floor at the end of the show

the rest have kind of blurred into 1 a bit - I think it's overload or maybe wine...

Yip -its totally her fault that they've been eliminated.
Never thought that wardrobe might be waging a vendetta on Muriel -brilliant!

When did that happen? Cos it completely passed me by! As I said on another thread, she's too fragile emotionally for me, I find her really uncomfortable to watch because I feel like she's going to fall apart at any moment.

There was (or in Alesha speak - 'there were') a moment backstage before Tess announced that the voting lines were open that I thought someone had said something to upset her. She looked devastated and as if she was about to weep.

She creeps me out. (ali)

On the other hand I love (Ricky Groves!)

but Ali Long Neck has defo had ballet training. Yes, she's good but I find her very needy and cheesy and I just prefer dancers with a bit of fire.

And, I agree, she does look as though she's about to crack all the time. Ugh! Or is it an act?
