The only user manual for this system that i have been able to find is in German and French. But assuming the UK version is more or less identical then setting up the system should be fairly easy.
You just plug the SCART socket on the back into a spare SCART socket on the TV. Plug the mains plug into the socket on the wall. And that is it. Or were you expecting to be able to connect the other bits of kit to it? Well unfortunately you are stuffed on that score. The JVC has no external inputs of any kind so there is no way you can connect your DVD recorder or Virgin box to it. My language skills are poor to non existent (even in English ) so I cannot be certain but the remote has a button labelled TV Sound on it. A wild stab in the dark but this may mean it is able to receive sound from the TV via the SCART connection. Now this might mean that when you are using the DVD recorder or Virgin box that the sound is sent back down the SCART from the TV. Or maybe not, it all depends on the TV. But whatever it sends back will be stereo only. But as the JVC isn't a full surround system anyway that is not too big a problem. |

This question was answered in your last thread....by me. Here Quote:
Page 13 of your manual. You can select sound from the TV....
Ordinarily this would be the sound from whatever TV station you are watching, but there's no reason why it couldn't be the sound from your DVD recorder as long as...

Your TV can send sound out via one of the SCARTS - check your manual
You select the TV input that corresponds to the DVD recorder
Other than the USB port that is the only way you can use an external source though. 1) Find out which SCART socket on your TV has the "AV Out" feature. That is to say that this particular socket SENDS a signal out to something else as well as being an input...in your case the JVC sound system. 2) Connect a fully wired SCART lead from the JVC to the TV SCART socket with the AV Out feature. 3) Use the JVC remote - Press the "TV Sound" button. Assuming the TV and sound system are both On then you should now be able to hear the sound of whatever the TV is showing through both the TV speakers and the JVC speakers. Turn the TV volume down. 4) Connect all your other sources to the TV. Use SCART cables for all. 5) The TV acts as a switch to choose which sound goes to the JVC kit. Change the input on the TV and the sound through the JVC speakers will change with it. i.e. Choose the TV input for the Virgin box and the Virgin box sound will come out of the JVC speakers. |
