I wonder if Alesha will be "too busy" to do the main show next year as well? Arlene could be back for good.

Sharlene needs to cut herself off completely from SCD i dont know why she is giving the organisers the time of day

I was surprised she accepted the slot on The One Show as it's such a demotion. But maybe she wanted to keep her foot in there in case Alesha didn't work out.

She probably doesn't want to appear as though she has eaten sour grapes. All credit to Arlene for keeping schtum on this sensitive topic.

Last year she was quite vile in a newspaper article and she has learned.

Still I am glad she is going on the tour.

Me too, it means her fans still have a chance to see her involved in the show and I don't have to put up with her polluting my Saturday nights. Perfect!

My thoughts exactly

They should get her back on the main show now. Craig has lost his blunt honesty, Len has lost his spark, Bruno has lost his marbles, and Alesha never had anything anyway. Bruce lost it all many years ago - if he ever had it - and I can't remember laughing at his jokes when I was a boy back in the 1950s.

Great post and so true

Do we know who will host the tour?

Kate Thornton is now a regular presenter on Loose Women so I'm guessing she won't be able to travel up and down the country.

Are we expecting her to be accompanied by the other three boys like last year, or do we know any of them that might have other commitments then like Bruno two years ago.

And where does Darcy fit into all of this, or she just a guest judge so they don't count. I do wish they wouldn't dub her with that name, she knows more than some of te proper judges for a start .

Agree with the bold What I wouldn't give to hear a real mouthful from Arlene again Shame I can't get to the tour. Missing her more each week I am. Her critiques were unique. It's her vocabulary. Her way with words and the atmosphere on the panel in general. Better stop there before I get bashed lol, but I can't help it. I do miss her. Warts and all.

Me too I think if I'd been Arlene I'd have told them to stuff the tour where the sun don't shine. It's nothing but a demotion which doesn't make sense for someone with her dance experience/knowledge! In her position I'd have been too proud to accept their crumbs.

However Alesha is doing better than I expected!

I'm glad Arlene is on the tour, as it will please her fans with tickets and it shows the decision to replace her with Alesha wasn't simply ageism. Personally I don't miss her at all on the main show and think the judging panel is better than ever.

I don't agree Craig has lost his bluntness as I think he is worse than ever ('rigor mortis' ' the best bit was when you were standing still', etc.). Bruno may be out of his seat a lot, but he is making more sense than ever before. Len has settled down again after aliens invaded his body last series and Alesha has settled in very nicely and doing a good job.

I don't understand why people think Arlene should turn down work from the BBC over her being replaced by Alesha. She's doing the One Show, SYTYCD, and the SCD tour - all money in the bank for her. Why should she cut her nose off to spite her face?

Mmmm ... I think Arlene had too public humiliation TBH and in her position I personally would have been very tempted to say no to the BBC's offers. If I wasn't good enough for the main programme after doing it for years then I wouldn't be taking their sloppy seconds! But that's me and it would be cutting my nose off to spite my face to a certain extent.

Apart from The One Show would Arlene even been offered 'So You Think You Can Dance' and the tour if it hadn't been for the public backlash? So it could be said it worked in her favour to a certain extent, and like you say BuddyBontheNet money IS money and not to be sniffed at in these hard times AND it gives fans of Arlene (like me!) a chance to still see her

However I am not taking it out on Alesha and think in the three weeks she has been doing Strictly she has improved immensely and is settling in well. Her comments had a lot more depth this weekend and she wasn't afraid to disagree with The Great Len or other judges at times

I think Alesha had have more public humiliation than Arlene and that it is possible than Arlene wanted a change (as she said on ITT last year when she said she might not be back.) All these jobs could have been lined up for all we know. The only ones that knows what really happened is Arlene and the producers.

As for Arlene being on the tour it will be great to see and her fans but I don't miss her on the show as she was always my least favourite judge so as long as the other judges were there I would be happy. Would love to know who are the pro and celebs but will just have to wait

Also if sytycd is popular they will probably have a tour like the usa version but the tour never includes the judges anyway

Well if that is Kate and Alesha busy - what about Camilla. I presume Karen would be unavailable

Apparently Arlene is going to be a judge on the 2010 tour. She says she loves the show etc etc .... Good for her (I guess) but wonder she didn't tell them what to do with their judging!
