I don't think it would make a blind bit of difference.

I hope the BBC dont get rid of Anton.

The press has blown all this out of proportion.

The comment was made (fair enuff he is older and wise than some of the young pro dancers and should not have done it)

He publicly apologised and Leila said it was fine people just should get over it and stop complaining over something that has nothing to do with them.

Why is this country so bloody good at moaning about something so trivial when far worse is happening in this country.

Was talking about this with the other half the other night. He has also experienced comments similar to the one Anton made (he's half Chinese so gets "chinky" alot) and made the valid point that racism in the work place is a punishable offence, and depending on the context can be sackable.

My point being, if you or me made that comment at work we would be disciplined, if not final warning maybe sacked depending. All Anton has had to do is apologise. His views are his own and we cannot change them, but comments like that should not be brought to the workplace and he should be punished. Maybe not sacked, lets face it he's no Jonathan Ross, but a pay cut would be a nice gesture at this stage.

How do you know what repurcussions have or have not taken place behind closed doors?

I don't! But the fact we haven't heard about them suggests they haven't.

I like Anton and don't want him to be sacked, however I think this would all go away (or mostly go away) if we knew that he had been punished (for want of a better word) for his actions. Sorry is all well and good, and if Laila accepted it then I myself am happy but clearly the GBP aren't which is why I say this.
