Hi guys, seeing as now O2 have lost all exclusivity of the iPhones to Orange and Voda, when Orange release their iPhone will customers be able to go to O2 and have their iPhone unlocked to put an Orange SIM in, which can be done with almost any other PAYG phone. Of course they wouldn't have done it before when they have exclusivity, but now they don't have exclusivity are they required to unlock our iPhones if we wish? If they did i would jump at the opportunity.

Im guessing an extortionate fee will be involved.

A massive fee would be involved as my bro works for apple support and they charge £65 per unlock.

The latest I heard was that no decision has been made.

Lummo, you say when Orange sell the iPhone, will you be able to put an Orange SIM in your O2 iPhone. There is no sign (yet) that Orange will be offering a "SIM only" iPhone tariff with access to Visual Voicemail etc.

But you would only need an "official" unlock, if you were wanting to use it with an iPhone tariff with a different provider.
