FYI

I just signed up for a very good deal with a1comms (www.a1comms.co.uk). You get a free Motorola A835 with video, mp3 player, bluetooth and all the usual 3G bells and wistles. Then you also get 12 months half price line rental (£12.50 per month) on a 12 month contract which includes 500 minutes of any network anytime calls.

It beat any of the offers with the standard mobile or even landline providers.

What an amazing buy! You can also get the same phone on VT750 (750 XNet mins/month) for free with 1/2 price line rental for 1st 3 months then £35/month + £150 Cash Back. So that Works out at £18.22/month. Mobileshop.com

Anyone opting to buy a ThreePay Motorola A-835 on PAYG for £150 needs their head examined when you can get not only the phone but 500 mins of calls a month for the same price!

Wavejock, not only had you almost made it through a thread without bashing three, BUT you were quite fair in favour of them and balanced too!! But you had to go and spoil it!

Never mind, next time eh?

Newsflash - NEC's 3G handsets are pants - well I never!

Sorry but the press report only came to light as I wrote the reply. It is of course very relevent and justifies the caution that I have urged with regard to 3. I have made no comment on the article - forum members can read it and make up their own minds with regards to its content.

I haven't got mine yet, is it true that three don't have wap enabled? If so that seems crazy. If other networks start 3G services will I be able to just shove another sim in my A835 for fast wap services?

Not that it bothers me that much as I only got it because three was alot cheaper than any of the other big 4 networks. In fact if reception is okay then I shall be cancelling my landline.

Line rental is reduced to begin with then a1comms give you a rebate on half of your line rental for the remaining months of the year.

The Link are also doing 12 months half price line rental on the £25 pm contract if you get the NEC 808y, but they looked very bulky.
