Texting On Vodaphone

I have just got a new Vodaphone contract phone. My Tariff is 300 mins and unlimited texts.
If I was to text someone who has gone abroad on holiday, do I get a charge or does it come under my unlimited calls?

And does the person the other end get a charge.
Ie Portugal, Italy and the Canaries

As long as it's a UK number you're texting it will come out of your allowance. If it is a foreign number you will be charged for an international text.

Recieving a text is free though.
