Looking for a decent new TV
Hello folks,
It's about time i got hold of a new TV. I'm looking for a decent 42" HD compliant TV. To be used for watching sports, films, console gaming and preferably media from the computer (so would be useful to be able to stream various file formats straight from the PC). I've been reading through these forums and I was looking at the Panasonic Plasma TX-P42V10B but apparently this won't accept media in any other format than DivX or MPEG2? Multi-formats capability is more important to me than a decent image for watching TV etc although i would rather not compromise that if possible. Any good recommendations for great products out there? I have to admit to being a bit lost! Don't want to fork out a grand+ for it to be unable to do what i want it to do. Even a tiny bit of assistance/push in the right direction here would be greatly appreciated

If you're connecting a media centre to the TV then why not let that do all the format decoding?

Western Digital's TVHD media player is a great little piece of kit.
Had one since January, and it still makes me smile when I use it. It's that good! - plays loads of formats, including HD. Plays DVD ripped VOBs or IMG files (without DVD menus unfortunately, but that may come with a future firmware update). |
