Horse racing doesn't get much of a mention on here - I know BBC Five Live cover the sport pretty extensively, as do a number of bookmakers' in-house radio stations.
But today (Friday 13th November) it's the turn of
talkSPORT to get back into the saddle (sorry!) to provide live coverage of the sport of kings.
Hawksbee & Jacobs are broadcasting their afternoon show from Cheltenham Racecourse in order to cover the first day of
The Open Race Meeting, which is scheduled to include certain commentaries on some of the bigger races.
Rupert Bell is the station's race commentator and roving reporter out on the course.
Paddy Power, whose firm is sponsoring tomorrow's Gold Cup race, was due to be the third man of the presenting team with Paul and Andy but he missed his flight to England this morning

and so is linking up with the boys via phone from his Dublin base.
Live horse racing in this timeslot on talkSPORT has some history - it was a staple of The Afternoon Sportzone with Rob Wotton and then Richard Kaufman in the station's early days, and continued into H&J after they were switched to the 1-4pm slot in 2002 until, I think, a sponsorship deal was struck with Attheraces. This coincided with the end of live commentaries as their coverage was cut down to just a 1.30pm preview.
