Anton and Laila - Another Ballroom Dance?
scorpio20080

Can someone explain to me as to why they got the Foxtrot on Saturday? Would have thought that those who had ballroom last saturday would get Latin this week and vice versa. But this does not seem to be the case with these two, although most of the other couples who had either ballroom or latin last week are doing the opposite..

Thanks..

I thought this too but Natalie is doing the salsa after doing the paso and Laila and Craig are doing the foxtrot after the quickstep seems a bit odd.

The couples alternate between latin and ballroom as a general rule...but it's not a hard and fast rule.

Definitely happened at the beginning last year as Christine and Matt had the foxtrot followed by the quickstep as their first and second dances. I'm sure it happened with someone else too, possibly Cherie and James???

Do we know that Zoe is definatly doing the Foxtrot yet, and that Ricky W is doing the Foxtrot, as they could have kept the same style aswell. I can't remember hearing about them so far this week.

It's happened in previous years and Laila and Anton are not the only couple to be doing two Ballrooms in a row this year (Craig & Flavia are as well).

yes it has happened before, but Tony can't avoid the dance for ever (unless he goes) funny how he is dancing to his strengths and not doing latin though they should alternate fairly and this is NOT fair

I don't think it's fair either, as it seems to be favouring some more than others, Anton I'm looking at you!

In all fairness to Anton he doesn't get to choose which dance they do so it's hardly his fault. He'd probably want to do the salsa as he knows his latin isn't a patch on the ballroom. They may have mostly latin at later stages now if they survive.

There has never been any hard and fast rule and we've moaned about that often enough in the past.

Exactly. This doesn't work to Anton's advantage at all. I think James and Cherie had a similar problem last year when they had too many fast latin dances in the later stages. Better to get the weaker dances over and done with.

I'm sure Anton would of loved to have gotten the salsa out of thr way whilst there is clear "dummys" still in and he should be safe, and save his signature dance to when Laila is more developed...however with the recent turn in events this could be there best dance yet and save any boycott of votes for the pair, I for one will still be voting!

I agree.

The Foxtrot is his trump card.

It would be more advantageous to play it at a later stage of the competition.

I completely agree. This might be a good move in the short term, but long term it has probably scuppered their chances of winning or doing very well. It is a no win situation.

Just as Natalie gets another chance to over-act in a latin.

The producer will decide who dances what.

Can hardly wait for her to "just go out there and give it her all."

Well you do have to wonder if he hasn't deliberately been given another ballroom as everyone knows Anton can't dance latin. Laila danced the cha cha better than he did.

Yep, definitely a conspiracy. I don't care whether this has happened many times in the past. I don't care if it's also happening to other couples not only in this series but in this round. I also don't care that it would be an advantage for him and Laila to get this dance at a later stage. I don't care about any of that because I want a conspiracy, I need one, and dammit I'M GOING TO HAVE ONE.

Its the producers who decide who dances what dance when. The only basic premise is that - by the time they reach the semifinals - each couple will have danced every dance.

Each "even numbered contestant" week, the same number will dance each dance, so as to give the programme balance.

They can start with a programme of 14, but they have to compensate and change every time someone is eliminated.

I've heard that in light of last Sundays revelations Anton will incorporating the goose step into their foxtrot this Saturday.
He will also be wearing a standartenfuhrer's uniform
