This has also been posted on the BTV forums, but thought I'd put it here too, incase anybody else has had this same problem.

'I posted my client ID earlier to gain the update, which came (I think). '

I'd been upstairs, but left the TV with the Vision+ box connected to it on downstairs. When I came down, the screen was blank and the green power light was flashing. I did a soft reboot (holding the power button down for a few seconds) and the box restarted and appeared to be updating. The progress metre would reach 100%, and then it'd loop, I'd get the starting screen, a black screen with the BT logo, and then back to the update screen.

I contacted BTV Support on the phone who told me to remove the power from the box, restart and call them back if it didn't work.

It didn't.

Ringing back I was told to do a factory reset. THREE factory resets later and it's still performing this loop of starting, upgrading, crashing, leaving me unable to use my box for anything at all.

Is there any way of saving it?

Thanks
Luke

Hi Lukeyboy,

Sorry to hear of the problems you have been experiencing with your Vbox. I would be happy to help in resolving this matter but in order to do so I would need your account details and your client ID. Please send this information to forum.moderation.team@bt.com and I will personally deal with your reply. Alternatively this information can be sent in a PM.

All the best,

Robbie

PM sent, looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks again
Luke

UPDATE:
Having moved my PS3 (with PlayTV) downstairs, I set the Vision+ box upstairs, and plugged it in, to see what happens.

It booted from the NR01 screen, then to the cogs. When it got to the BTVision - Please Wait screen it said there was no network connection (there was), and the diagnostics screen said I was already running the new software! Having then refreshed that screen, the device rebooted and is going through it's usual update loop again.

It's all a bit frustrating, but, it's just my luck for electronics to fail.

Luke
