I have a humax foxsat pvr and when I rewind a program, I end up with subtitles which I cannot get rid of?

Yeah - it's a known bug.

If you go into the menu then disable and re-enable subtitles you may be able to get them to disappear.

Even more funny is that when you use timeshift and ask for subtitles is says they are not avaialble during timeshift

just to point out for those who may want subtitles during timeshift, select subtitles before selecting timeshift.

Sadly, that isn't any help when you just want subtitles on for a few moments because someone mumbled or background noise got in the way. (Which may well be the reason you entered timeshift in the first place.)

If only the Humax could work like the Digihome where you press the subtitle button and it toggles their appearance.

Unfortunately subtitles are one of the worst implemented features on the Humax.
