Having just found my old toastie maker - covered in the obligatory dusty, greasy fudge it manages to collect despite being in an enclosed, dust-free place - I've just got a big craving for a toastie. My favourite ever was creamy garlic mushrooms, and i've just read on the baked beans thread that someone puts beans in a toastie, which sounds amazing!

Any other unusual type toastie ideas for me to try until I get fed up with the toastie machine again...?

If you've never tried a bacon & banana toastie you haven't lived!

Cheese and onion, yummmm, cheese and beans, cheese and ham, cheese on it's own .

Not tried tuna, but that could work too, I like chilli sandwiches so I think that could be a good transfer!!

mozzarella and tomato, with basil. Hummus and falafel, with lettuce (but I've never tried it in a toastie)
