Nooooooo. Alex Kramer can't leave the TV again.
![]() Seriously though, while I agree that I would prefer all the space on Freeview to be used for all the things we actually want to watch, (Entertainment/Music/Movies/Sports) the realities at the mo is that the Big hitters on the Commercial Free TV scene (ITV/4/Five) are grumbling about falling revenue. I don't think we can expect too much in whatever replaces Big Deal And Alex Kramer is Gorgeous. Which doesn't harm.

Maybe The Big Deal will be given a Babestation rebrand, replace the quiz presenters with the bints from the channel, complete with premium rate chat, fake boobs and an impossible quiz!

BigDeal would be best replaced with nothing, the resulting improvement in picture quality for the other channels on the multiplex is more worth while than The Big Deal.

those are the same hours at SmileTV2, I wonder if those channels are feeling the pinch now they have been shunted to the 90s.

And at a guess they'll only use one presenter doing a 5 hour shift.
It won't surprise me if Babestation 1 (SmileTV2) starts from 10pm on LCN 32 using the Big Deal label. Cellcast's channels have the wrong channel labels already for their services! |

Awh! Big Deal is one of the few premium-rate phone-in channels that is sometimes worth watching. At least you can guess at home what the answer might be, unlike stupid roulette shows and the like. Plus Big Deal has presenters who make an effort.
There's big money being won tonight with prizes ranging from £10 to as much as a staggering £25 on the word-search which has just started. £25 ffs! Just imagine winning that!!! |

When Big Deal is getting 5 calls in 15 minutes as it has at various points, simple logic says that swapping with one of the Smile channels would earn more revenue. Another outside possibility is that no swapping occurs and that the 10pm-midnight slot is going to be used for Psychic Interactive.
So basically the usual high quality output from Cellcast. |

Big Deal seems to average anywhere between 10-50 calls every 5 minutes if what they show on-screen is to be believed. Obviously that is nowhere near enough to cover the cost of running the channel, which will be far greater than the amount now spent on prizes. And Freeview slots don't come cheap, from what I've read.
Given that they can't be making money, why don't all these rubbish channels just stop wasting their own money, so that the channels worth having have enough bandwidth, and there is room for other worthwhile channels which want to try Freeview? |

Who in their right mind will stay up till midnight to pay a £1 a go to have a chance of winning a whole £10??!!
I can see the show being axed very very quickly after this 'change'. |
