Is there a new iPhone coming?
Is there any news of a new iphone on the way for 2010? Im interested in getting one, but want to know if there is a new one on the way next year? Is there a planned update or a next generation on its way?

I am expecting to see a new device in June/July. Apple have been quoted saying each device is a 12month lifespan.

NO!
Each manufacturer makes big improvement not just some gimmicks like adding a video camera, 3G and a digital compass (lol by the way) which should have been there in the first place. Nearly most HTC, Nokia and even LG have good improvements. Not dissing the iPhone, I have a iPod touch which is a great device btw. But you can' deny many important factors missing from the iPhone, not matter how hard you will try and defend itapple are taking people for a ride. Try Blackberry Bold or HTC Hero, both are the best phones out now. |

As a business device iPhone doesn't stand up to it, yes it mimmicks features of other phones as standard but it's all just gloss. That said I would say it does have the most simple GUI's of any phone out there the only other comparison I know that matches if not beats it is the HTC Hero.
That said...... Blackberrys are very good devices for communication, I havent come across anyone that hasn't fallen in love with a blackberry when they have gotten one. I do understand they are not for everyone, much like an iPhone. I love the iPhones GUI but looking at it for what it really is, it's just a mid range phone with a lot of Gloss over the top of it. The 3G S was a lazy upgrade by Apple I suspect their next release of the iPhone will be something worth considering. Until then whatever we say is pure conjecture. |

You say a video camera is a gimmick and yet not so long a go people were criticising the iPhone for not having one? ![]() I disagree that each manufacturer make big improvements between each new model, but if you think so - prove it. And it's just your opinion that the iPhone is missing many important factors, how many years have people said that the iPod is missing important features like FM radio, drag and drop without iTunes et al and yet you own one as do I. If these things were as important as people around here think they are, people would take their custom elsewhere. Also I'm not sure why people are suggesting other phones in this thread, the OP asked when the next revision of the iPhone would be available, nothing more. |

I think any new iPhone will be very similar, but have features that other phones have already. So flash support, widgets, multi tasking, etc.

Hiya! Horrible devices, and whats with adding a feature and charging extra to use it.
The reason why you pay extra is for the licensing, Blackberry is unique in how is manages your email. It's a damn sight more flexible and robust than MobileMe from Apple. iPhone is a multimedia device, Blackberry is a communications device. Fundamentally they are aimed at very different markets (however much either device(s) blur the lines). |
